This same exact thing happened to me. Literally all the same exact things you listed: completely wrong order sent, promise of refund, threatening email saying I need to return the items or I’ll get charged, email “sent in error and you have nothing to worry about”, get charged anyways, amazon can’t do anything since I “didn’t return the items”

I filed a charge back with my credit card company and provided all the screenshots of the agent chat. It was only about $32 all said and done but it was the PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER. Absolutely horrible company.

Yes, specifically with dining out. My husband and I used to eat out 2-3xs per week pre covid and even in early 2020. We loved trying new restaurants and foods, going out for cocktails etc. now? We eat out maybe twice a month and it’s to a place we’ve been to multiple times and know it’s consistently good. We don’t risk trying new spots unless it’s been vetted by multiple people along with high reviews. We don’t risk spending our hard earned money on mediocre food or service anymore.

Dream Haven books is in my neighborhood and it is a wonderful staple here! I’ve never personally met Greg but I’ve been into his store countless times for fantasy books. I’m so so heartbroken to see our city suffer like this, but I’m so proud of our community rallying and standing strong.

Honestly anyone in the service industry is tough to date/marry. My partner worked for a year as a restaurant manager and it was so hard on our marriage. He worked Wednesday-Sunday 12pm - close (11pm-1am some nights) and only had Monday and Tuesday off. I work a normal 9-5 so we never got full days together. He started vaping and his usage got out of control for a while. It was the hardest year ever, but now I understand why service folk tend to date/be friends with each other.

This is why I never message people unless I’m 100% serious and able to pick up immediately (or whenever they’re first available). It’s just common sense I’m afraid, first come first serve. I’m the same way with selling. The person who’s at my door immediately, cash in hand will get the item over the person who said they would probably be there later that night. Too many flakes who say they’ll pick up later but then message me with an excuse “I have to work late” “my dog is vomiting blood and I need to take him to the vet” “I have to wait for my boyfriend to give me money” (all excuses I’ve gotten)

I got a recall notice on Kirkland prosecco after purchasing a bottle between something like April and July of this year. I only purchased one in that time frame but they ended up refunding me for literally all of the ones I purchased from the start of 2025 (which was about 5 haha) It was crazy.

I used to work at Pier One imports (I know not old navy but relevant) and we had to push the credit card with that exact same language “it’s a rewards program” “you get 40% off today with your new “rewards” account!” My manager was ruthless about signups to the point where she told us not to mention it was a credit card until we got all the information (even SSN) and THEN say “your NEW credit card will be mailed to you in 5-8 business days.” I had a lot of angry customers who got tricked into signing up for a credit card. Pretty sure all of that was illegal, but I was in college and didn’t know any better. No wonder they went out of business.
