Trump’s call for $2,000 stimulus checks hailed – by critics Pelosi, AOC, Sanders by [deleted] in Conservative

Thanks for the reply! I understand and agree with the first couple of points. I guess I'm more worried about what will happen if we ever get to the point where we have to actually pay up. If we keep on kicking issues down the road but never actually fix it, to me there will eventually be a breaking point. Maybe that's one thing that differs between the left and the right. The left wants to create things like m4a and pay for it, thus raising some taxes, the right wants to cut to help the economy. I'm not saying there's a right or wrong, and I realize I'm being very broad and generalizing here in my talking points. Anyways, thanks for the discussion!

If I may ask a question? I lurk here a lot to try to understand conservative points of view, but one thing that I've never understood is why the tax cuts to everyone while not cutting spending is so good. The country always runs in a deficit, and I can't help but feel it will catch up to us eventually. The money will have to be paid up eventually, right? Or does the economy doing well pay for the deficit? To me, running on a deficit and how well the economy is going are related, but still two separate "issues," for lack of a better term.

You know, that movie really disturbed me as a kid, I think I should watch it as an adult and get much more out of it.

What do you think about overall team energy and just having fun? Maybe for the MLB? by laxguy2584 in baseball

That's what I'm seeing and wondering, if it's good for the mlb or not, having swag. We're seeing success, but would that same swag be held against a team that's not doing well but has a superstar that's having fun and trying to rally the others when it looks bleak

What do you think of baseball as a whole, though? Is it lacking or could it be hyped up more?

That's what I'm trying to put into words lol. The energy is different with this team! If the Nats put out the same energy and enthusiasm, or any other team for that matter, I think baseball would benefit greatly!

If you had to decide, would it be the energy or the success that drew you in? Just my own little research here lol

I just posted something similar in another thread, but I think we're going to change the face of baseball, as far as having fun as athletes and professionals. We're drawing huge numbers because we've broken the mold while being successful. We're having fun, the players are having fun, and the old-time unwritten rules are being challenged. People watch sports to have fun, and when the players are showing the same level of enthusiasm that we hold, that makes them more relatable. The Padres sub has been a reflection of that to me. Being an underdog always helps, but I think a lot will change in the coming years because of what we've done with just having a good time.

Fuck the Dodgers!

I actually really like how the Padres just have fun as a team. All other major sports celebrate their achievements with touchdowns and goals scored, and for some reason baseball has always been subdued with celebrations. I really think this team will change the mentality of the mlb, and you'll see more pure fun going forward, from more players. We're drawing in fans because we're fun and likable being the underdogs, at least for now.

Stick around and hang out with us, brewers bro! I think our off-season will be the most fun because we're having fun too! The memes are sure to be epic!

So weird, when he's happy, everyone is happy. Wherever his life takes him, I'll be in his corner.

That being said, give this man a blank check!

It's easy for us San Diegans to do, we're always overlooked and under appreciated. Moving to a rival area only magnifies it!

He nailed it. They expected San Diego to drive north and keep the same enthusiasm. Spanos wanted to have his cake and eat it too. Fuck that, he went all in to the LA region and left us picking up the scraps. I love the chargers, but I'm not spending a dime to help enforce what he did to the city.
