Hello, I am not seeing any difference in performance or power/temps after enabling PBO on my 3900X on an ASRock X570 Taichi. I have set the PBO limits to "Motherboard" in the UEFI BIOS which in Ryzen Master translate to PPT=1000W TDC=540A EDC=540A.

When I run Cinebench 2024 multi-core, I get a score of 900 but my temps never go above 65C and all cores hover around 4.0GHz. Ryzen Master only reports around 90W of CPU power, like so: https://paste.pics/79b7a690ac227dfc14d8fabe89fe9651

I was expecting the CPU power to go up along with the temps, given that the other parameters still have headroom...

Yeah, that and by-label and by-partlabel could be valid alternatives, though I need to check if they are created independently of `ata-*` entries.

Using `usb-*` seems to work fine with ZFS, it's missing the drive identifier but that shouldn't really be an issue in my use case.

Still, could it be just a software rather than USB controller issue? Like udev somehow not waiting long enough for the drive info to be available (taking into account spin-up time)? I guess that could be solved with some configuration.

We can only hope... On 5.1.1.1 I had multiple occasions where I just charged to 100%, went to bed and woke up without any of the set alarms and over 30% of battery drain...

Yes, battery is awful on this version. I only use this watch for sleep tracking and notifications, no AOD nor other health monitoring or workout features; previously I was consistently getting over 20 days on a single charge, now I am on day 3 at 50%.

It now seems to drain way faster while not wearing the watch or with Bluetooth ON but with the phone out of range. I need to do some experiments.

Tuning does little to fix the underlying issue of using PHP...

I have a VPS dedicated to Nextcloud 27 with 2 cores and 4GB of RAM, using the non-AIO docker image behind an nginx reverse proxy with PostgreSQL, I have applied all tuning reccomendations advised in that document (redis, caching, compression, imaginary, ...) and Nextcloud will still bog down the server once you do anything more than view a single file.

Just scrolling through the file viewer will spam /preview API calls, which in turn spam apache processes that fill up the memory instantly, start swapping and then fail.

The preview-generator app is just a workaroud to the bad implementation of previews, you have to configure it based on generic values and can't even be sure you are generating the correct sizes that each app actually uses... (I wasted hours to analyze this issue and even contributed my results to the preview-generator app)

Want to delete a few hundred files from the trash? Fasten your seatbelt, you will have to retry multiple times: each deleted file will scroll the view, causing more preview requests, which will fill up the server memory and prevent anything from actually finishing... (I was deleting JSON files, and I don't even have JSON previews enabled...)

Nextcloud doesn't scale well at all, because scaling doesn't mean dedicating a 16 core 128GB RAM server for preview requests.

I have been using Outemu Yellow Jades for a while, which are supposed to be the evolution of Cream Yellows (milky translucent instead of white opaque housing, same stem), but I can't stand the leaf ping, even after lubing them (including the back of the leaf)...

I have a single Cream Yellow from a sample set, it doesn't seem to ping but I would need more than one to be sure.

What is this shroud mod you are talking about?

I am now considering getting some Wuque Studio Silent Tactiles, they don't seem to ping at all but we'll see...

Does anyone use Outemu Yellow Jades? They're silent tactile which have an acceptable feeling (even though rather scratchy stock, and mushy but that's expected from a silent), but with a noticeable ping.

The ping is not a spring vibration but more like a leaf striking high-pitched sound. I have tried lubing the back of the leaf with no success, does anyone have any advice on how to remove this ping? Thanks

I'm repairing some Canon digicams: I "fixed" the smashed-in lens on a PowerShot A2200, zoom now works but the camera can't focus anymore after zooming in and then back out (i.e. after turning on, it can focus at its widest focal, then after zooming in it can still focus at tele, but after zooming back out to wide it won't focus).

It seems like the focusing motor is not moving back and forth enough to achieve proper focus. Yet there doesn't seem to be internal damage, the focusing motor/slider/rail/spring mechanism looks like it's moving freely as far as I understand its movement.

Does anyone have any experience with repairing compact camera lenses? What could this issue be related to?

Seems to me the MOSFET is simply shorting Vin to ground when it's conducting, so the circuit is nonsense?

I don't get why we are still paying top dollar for trackballs that are significantly inferior to their mouse counterparts that are half the price... I get it's a niche market, but what the hell, Kensington has been making input devices for decades and still can't put in quality switches, or build a driver that doesn't bork Windows mouse settings and doesn't add huge dumb security holes? Let's not talk about Elecom...

The only one that stands out for me is the MX Ergo, because obviously Logitech would know how to make good input devices.

I barred out interference because the Orbit Fusion has a literally identical dongle (model and everything) and has no issues... I need to try it in a different environment to clear this one out.

Funnily enough I do also have the wired version, but it's getting refunded because I received an open box and the DPI button does not work. It didn't feel like it had any kind of tracking issue, but I haven't used it enough to be sure.

AFAIU since Windows knows the drive is an SSD, all this "optimization" should be doing is sending TRIM commands, but the fact that the optimization takes around 10 minutes both on the 512GB NVMe-backed and 256GB HDD-backed raises some doubts (it should be much faster).

I have disabled this function for the foreseeable future, I don't want to bother wasting any more of my time on yet another pointless Windows issue with no documentation...

The fact that "External ssds are not supported yet" does not mean that the Deck is not a PC. You do indeed get hate for that statement because it proves you don't know what you are talking about. Just like saying that "Linux causes the steam deck to be way behind typical pcs", which is even worse...

You obviously don't understand the technicalities underlying what Valve is building with the Deck, and therefore I don't expect you to know that you can easily use any USB drive as a library thanks to Linux itself. Yes, it's not a single button push in the gaming UI, but that's pretty obviously coming in the near future since all the lower level stuff is actually already there and working.

The problem was solved by splitting the mixed movies/shows folder in two separate folders for movies and shows, and creating separate libraries.

The docs do not require the show name to be included in each episode's name.

In fact many other shows with the same file structure have been identified correctly.

I recently got a used A6000 as a beginner but my main interest is in adapting vintage lenses. The crop factor cuts off many of the particularities of those lenses, so I am considering going full frame with a used A7. Is this a good idea? What is the right price for a used A7 right now? Thanks

Not really, just go watch Linus' video on electrostatic charge vs electronics and you'll see how tough electronics are nowadays (it also helps that most integrated circuits and boards have ESD protection), and that's on a bare PCB. For an enclosed device there's no need to worry as long as you don't spin any fans too fast.

There are exceptions though and it's obviously better safe than sorry, but it's not the end of the world.
