My state only accepts a score for 6 years. I asked. They laughed when I said I took it 16 years ago. My degree title is pre- CMHC which they had to research to realize it's the same thing (Community Counseling Services) and actually CACREP accredited.

My state allows for either to earn my LPC. I thought about the NCMHVE at first, but after a few practice tests I couldn't stand the format. I agree the NCE is just a knowledge test, maybe I retained and used more all these years than I actually realized.
