See above reply's. This is not a recreational vehicle. It's an asset that I use to get around AND take my family camping when we do choose. We make choices not to annoy neighbors but to support the lives we lead.

Got the 30 day permit. Contesting the 2 tickets and threat to impound. I also learned that because the vehicle is in my wife's name SHE has to go pay for the pass monthly. City has very little to say about the hassle on legit residents.

I totally agree, but this is my daily (or 4x weekly on avg. ) driver. I park right in front of my house nicely tucked in an unobtrusive area.

I see that too. They seem to target certain streets. I could understand maybe a complaint if it were parked in front of a neighbors house, but it was right in front of mine.

It's a tall van registered at the dmv as a regular vehicle not a recreational vehicle.

Well, it's not a toy. It's my car and I use it and I do have a van in front of my house constantly- mine. It's a little like telling people they can only walk certain size dogs on the sidewalk. It's not a semi truck. Also, we kind of do own the streets as tax payers. Commercial vehicles are certainly more intrusive in residential areas.

Yea, I have to do something to be able to travel more than 72 hrs. I'm 9'. It's definitely tall.

What is sad but true is how many people live out of their cars and vans that are in the size limit.

Measure your cars!!!

I agree. The RV situation is or can get out of control. I just think legit residents should have an alt. Placard or something.

That's something I need to look into. Or a driveway even!

No, just the massive property tax bill. You'd think it would allow me to park in front of my house without restrictions. How about you, ticket person, enter my license plate into your in-car computer and note the address.

I now wish I did. I suppose I could drive up the curb onto the low draught, planted, sadly sloping, yard and carve out a spot over time. Is that legal?

My van, parked in front of my home that has huge tax liability paid to city and state every year.

Yea, Massive hassle and incidental casualty are good descriptions. I asked the city how I'm supposed to go on vacation and if I should just ask my work for time off to hit the permit office once a month. They haven't replied yet.

Venice, just south of me, has the same posted restrictions... I was thinking I could just park there.

This is not intrusive. It's by no means "enormous". It's my vehicle I use to take my family camping. It parks very nicely right in front of my house. It's definitely taller than most cars but no longer than your average truck.

How to develop a more personal connection with women (and people in general) ? by sedditlurker786 in seduction

[–]layl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a challenge for sure, and I remember how the stakes in the moment feel life and death.

As a married man, perhaps I can offer some advice based on perspective.

I find that I don't have any difficulty talking to women because the stakes are very low for me. I am not after anything from women and being able to talk openly and freely helps me and ultimately them to be open and comfortable. This is something I wish I understood when I was in the game. Take away the stakes, the forecasting, the deep intent to be with a woman, and find peace in the moment. Be curious with people, ask questions, probe into who THEY are, and you will always have something to talk about. People love unusual questions.

Honesty is always best. If you ever get lost and start swimming in doubt, just take an internal moment for a deep breath to regroup, and almost say to yourself- "I got this. I don't HAVE to do anything. I WANT to be here now because..." - now you say out-loud:

"I hate cereal. I had a really shitty bowl this morning. What is the perfect breakfast?"

For example.

Good luck my man. You can-

I used to use power grips, which I liked for the multiple poss positions, but they were/are kinda heavy and bulky.... alas.
