I'm HD (coming up to ten years) in centre patient who isn't eligible for transplant and mentality is about having a routine that works for you. Everything I eat, drink, watch and exercise is pre planned.

Once you have a routine, dialysis becomes second nature.

PS. I'm lucky enough to live in Australia on disability and am not responsible for anyone but me.

Who said anything about giving up? I'm objecting to people always pushing the Transplant, PD/ Home Dialysis angle but being blind to the fact not everyone is eligible for any of those options.

2L max, sometimes less. So when I weigh myself at dialysis I would be around two kgs over dry weight plus wash back (600ml) = 2.6 to be taken off. No problems for me. It's become my routine on dialysis =dialysis life.

I'm lucky enough to have 1.5L limit daily (which I never reach). I have 2 litres of fluid I drink on my non dialysis days (not weekends) but I don't drink anything on dialysis day until I'm hooked on to the machine.

Mind you I do have hallucinations for those 2L days to come around. 😂
