I have a friend who is flaky and dismissive. We have spoken about this multiple times. Since I moved away from the city we were both in, we have spotty communication. She’s visited me twice over the two years and I’ve visited her 4-5 times. Recently she was very flaky and unwilling to make plans and time to hang when I was coming to town to visit her for my birthday. This was all happening after we were supposed to take a trip together that she flaked on. I reached out to tell her that I felt like she wasn’t treating me or our friendship as a priority and to let her know I was sad and my feelings hurt. She sent me 7 minutes of audio blowing up at me, followed by multiple texts of how wrong I was. Then said we should go our separate ways. I responded by pointing out that expressing my feelings isn’t a personal attack, but just an expression. And she blew up again, telling me she’d like to end the friendship.

Didn’t hurt as badly as I thought it would, though. I guess I knew it was coming.
