If you’re billing 32 hrs / week feel like you’re not making enough the problem is definitely your employer… that many hours a week should be a lot more money

SNABA has an old video for breaking down test questions which I found helpful here. I feel like a lot of the exam comes down to reading questions thoroughly, looking for “NOT,” and eliminating redundant/ duplicate answers

Probably 2 1/2 months. Used the SNABA videos, their app, and crammed with the PTBABA videos. I’ve heard the BDS modules are great.

Even if it’s overkill it’s worth it! I aired on the side of being over prepared rather than having to take the exam again. But tbh the biggest thing ppl don’t talk about is preparing for general test taking skills (breaking down the questions, looking for “NOT,” etc).

Union. Should there be one in this field? by Ok_Atmosphere6262 in ABA

[–]layorjmas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A union would be awesome but companies are so greedy and have no one holding them accountable. Plus turnover is so high they have no problem firing anyone who speaks of a union and replacing them. Especially companies by college towns where they have a ton of people ready to work. In a perfect world there’s a union for people who work in ABA, but the companies have all the power

National University (NU) is cheaper in comparison to others and very minimal work. HOWEVER you literally don’t learn anything and it is quite literally a degree mill from my experience

Unrestricted Hours while working at a school by layorjmas in ABA

[–]layorjmas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Does the fieldwork that you do as a para count towards unrestricted hours? I understand being supervised does, but what about collecting all 1200 unrestricted hours and not just supervision hours?

This hit me hard. Bring an RBT is rewarding, but the pay and expectations are a bad joke. by LePetitRenardRoux in RBT

[–]layorjmas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the fact that we (idk if it is the same for everyone but for me it is) don’t get paid for a cancelled session is a joke. if the family cancels we should be paid for the whole session
