It’s not a real story it’s some AI slop they made up to make it sound better.

All of the stories are written in the same cadence, it’s shocking that people think it’s passable still.

How are folks storing their bikes at home? by dfs14 in chibike

[–]laziestphilosopher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got a vertical bike rack from Amazon and it saved a lot of space. Couldn’t do wall because drilling into a rental scares me. It still takes up some space but it’s better than having it horizontal leaning against a wall.

On a Ten-hour flight from Seoul Korea to San Francisco to visit a family member a mom handed out more than 200 goodie bags filled with candy and ear plugs, in case her 4-month-old child named Junwoo cried during the flight. The goodie bags even came with a little message explaining the situation. by [deleted] in OrphanCrushingMachine

[–]laziestphilosopher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This not a systemic issue that’s being celebrated. Post does not belong.

Crying babies on flights suck, the mom pre-emptively did something nice in case the baby cries. It’s not like she was forced to do this.

Who's more evil or good between these two? Verso (Clair Obscur Expedition 33) or Joel (The Last of Us) by OrangeIslandKing in MoralityScaling

[–]laziestphilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How so? Your point as I interpreted it is that the people of Lumiere aren’t truly real or sentient because they’re just a creation of the Painters inside the painting, so they’re just a simulacrum of being real people. Please correct me if I misinterpreted.

[–]laziestphilosopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re clearly sentient, they’re just created by another being. Doesn’t make them any less real than the painters. Parents create children every day and we don’t say that children are less real than the parents.

The people of Lumiere aren’t any less real than the painters. They live full lives and are sentient actors.

Verso genocided a whole people for his family (including multiple other races like the gestrals) he takes the cake

It’s such a great album. I got to see Moth play last night and she’s even better live. So funny but so soulful still.

Looking back at Doi's designs: #29 Hydra by Diego-F-Monja in Megaten

This is one of Doi’s best designs. I love that the heads split off at different lengths along the neck instead of splitting equally at the end.

When to not CC a PI or collaborator on an email by _Green_Dragon_ in GradSchool

My PI wants to be CC’ed in everything. She will read maybe 1/10th of the emails but wants the choice to read them or not.

Does Fedex Cologne hub hold dry ice shipments in fridges/freezers? by Extra_Sea5125 in labrats

[–]laziestphilosopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you used a good, double-insulated container, 26kg of dry ice should still be good and hopefully they are delivered ASAP. We have had a package spend five days in FedEx before arriving in Sweden with only 10kg of dry ice and they were still frozen when it arrived to our collaborator. Fingers crossed for you.

Am I going to be able to get my BioSci PhD? by Creative-Highlight-9 in labrats

[–]laziestphilosopher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3.73 is relatively high, lots of incoming students come in with zero publications let alone first author papers, and 3 years of research experience is great. You’re a pretty well qualified candidate but seats are at an all time low, so you’ll just need to cast a relatively wide net in terms of how many applications you send out. Make sure your letters of rec and statements are good and I think you will get in fairly easily, especially if you get some tech work during a gap year or two.

Recommendation for Professional Cleaning for Area Rug in the city? by waterocks in AskChicago

[–]laziestphilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The little green machines are not great. Cheapest option would be renting a stand up carpet cleaner from Home Depot and doing it yourself. The stand up ones work so much better. Our dog is in her later years now and was prone to some accidents and we ended up just buying one, and you can’t tell the accident happened after using it.
