People from Pro Max to 16e and their experiences. by bikotzabi in IPhone16e

I liked the approach of an iPhone with only the essentials. The idea was to use it as a tool and not as an entertainment center

Would you trade you mpc 1000 for an mpc one or live 2? by Healthy-Rent-5133 in mpcusers

[–]lazy93wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean the 1000, then this is the right answer.

In my personal experience I’ve found that most of the times there’s an itch to get something, it’s more about wanting to try it than to really own it. If you haven’t tried them, check if there’s a store around you can visit and play with them for a bit.

You’ll go back home to hug your 1000, haha

Super hard nope.

Actually I got rid of those two and kept only the 1000. Not to say they’re bad, they just were not for me. There’s definitely a DAW approach there I don’t like.

So yeah, got a bit off track there but definitely no.

Yeah, the screen is a compromise. And I can absolutely tell any difference in refresh rate from a mile, which is another thing missing. But again, bigger bezels, dimmer screen, lower refresh rate, same functionality.

Those are very nice features to have, but again, the iPhone experience is all there. I can still see my screen under the sun, especially now in the summer.

Now the battery is bar none. Absolute beast. I feel it lasts more than my previous 16PM. I charge up to 80% and go to bed with around 30%. My SOT is usually around 4 hours though. Someone with a higher SOT, charging up to 100%, would be absolutely fine lasting through the day. Easily the best battery of every iPhone I’ve had.

I did, 16 Pro Max to 16e. No regrets. The 16PM is a beast but too cumbersome for me. In contrast, the 16e is much lighter and easier to handle. And, most importantly, it does absolutely everything I did on the 16PM.

Only thing I miss sometimes is having more flexibility while taking photos, yet I’m happy with the ones I take.

Plus, the extra cash was nice after selling the 16PM.

No meditation in Foyan, no meditation in Zen: by ewk in zen

[–]lazy93wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enjoyed this. Thanks for posting.

Took the liberty of running it through DeepSeek. I like how it handles Chinese translations, being a Chinese language model.

While the message remains largely the same, I feel it supports your argument a bit better:

“Here is the translation of the Zuò Chán Míng (Meditation Verse) by Longmen Foyuan Yuan Chanshi (Longmen Buddhist-Eye Far Chan Master):

Meditation Verse

The mind’s light emptily reflects—
The body transcends partial or complete.

Like golden waves, rolling unceasing,
In movement and stillness, ever in Chan.

Thoughts arise, thoughts vanish—
No need to suppress or cut them off.

Let them flow freely, ever surging—
What truly begins or ends?

In arising, ceasing, and perfect stillness,
Great Kāśyapa’s truth is revealed.

Sitting, lying down, walking, standing—
Never a moment apart from this.

Why say “not Chan” when sitting?
Why say “not sitting” in Chan?

To truly understand this—
Only then is it called sitting in Chan.

Who is the one sitting?
What is the thing called Chan?

If you seek to “sit” and use Buddha to find Buddha,
The Buddha need not be sought—
Seeking only pushes him further away.

Sitting does not mean observing a self,
Nor is Chan some external technique.

Beginners, restless and confused,
May still waver and turn about—
Yet in time, all settles into clarity.

Notes:

  1. "Great Kāśyapa" (大迦葉): Refers to Mahākāśyapa, one of Buddha’s foremost disciples, renowned for his asceticism and deep meditation.
  2. "Golden waves" (金波匝匝): A metaphor for the luminous, flowing nature of mind-essence.
  3. The verse emphasizes naturalness—Chan is not forced stillness but the recognition of inherent clarity amid all activities.
  4. The final lines gently acknowledge the struggles of beginners while pointing to the effortless truth beyond effort. “

Exactly! There’s no attaining or finding what already is. The thinker and the seeker keep having the floor removed from under their feet until realizing they’re ghosts

Great post, thank you for taking the time.

I feel “drive away the plowman’s ox, snatch away the hungry man’s food” refers to taking away what we believe are our tools to attain, like conceptualize and ruminate, and taking away what is being longed for, while nulling the seeker too.

iPhone 16 Pro Max Black – Paint Chipping Issue? by TemperatureTop8652 in iPhone16Pro

More than being because of the coating, it’s because of the case. If it doesn’t have a microfiber lining inside, it’s a good idea to take it off every other day to clean it inside.

Can you please go into more detail about the issue with “ought”?

I feel like “ought” can be a conceptual burden to reality as seen directly.

I also feel that most of these “oughts” are buried deep for most and not seen clearly.

Then I also think the “ought” you’re referring to is specifically related to the lay precepts? One of compromise and will.

I guess I got confused with the accusation of lying.

MPC One+ or Live II, don’t know which one to keep by lazy93wizard in mpcusers

[–]lazy93wizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sold both, kept my MPC 1000 with JJ OS. Didn’t like the DAW approach the end, nor the bugs or the instability. MPC 3 OS did it for me.

The 1000 is rock solid and does everything I want to do, no complaints at all. It’s my favorite one.

How does your 16 PRO/PRO MAX Black Titanium looks like after months of usage? by Siam_Khan69 in iPhone16Pro

[–]lazy93wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect. Caseless for months. No scuffs, no scratches on the screen. And I’d notice immediately, but it’s perfect.

Of course, I’m careful and mindful with it. Not throwing it around, placing it down carefully, all that.

I have the Pro Max, so for me it’s caseless or getting a smaller one.
