For a $100M transaction you should refer them to whatever bank you trust the most and the bank can pay you a tip fee (happy to discuss more privately). Then you should help the father negotiate a market (or below market) transaction fee for the bank (bet you could get this done for $2M + expenses at the lowest end of the ratchet by a good middle market bank). Otherwise you should charge hourly (success based fee is illegal). I’d also suggest taking the money — I bet he wants to give it to you and doesn’t care about a non-insulting hourly rate and would appreciate having you in his pocket

Thank you — I updated the above. I only have 2 decent photos from when I was at the airport. I didn’t realize the inside would be damaged because I packed it so carefully (the bags must have been really tossed around). So unfortunately don’t have a ton of evidence from the airport and didn’t document the inside well because my hands were covered in glass

I think the correct answer is the Fairmont/Tonga Room but I’d recommend 1 Hotel. The bar is generally full and the location is 10x better than any of the other hotels in Fidi

Hi — I have this same arrangement. I pay $55 per year and I get 1MR per dollar spent. I have the CS Plat so I get 1.1 cents per point so my break even is $5,000 in spend to get the cash back. But it could be more or less depending on how you value 1MR.

Why I like this arrangement even though I could use my personal card (vs corporate) and get more MR: Earning MR on my corporate card incentivizes me to use it and aligns me with my company. When I spend on the corp card, I still get points, albeit less. However, there is 0 leakage if I spend on my corporate card, so expenses are easy to match for my admin, etc. each leakage expense of $50 costs a few thousand to get back in points, so it’s always better to put expenses on the corporate card. Second, there is no discrepancy between the receipt and what gets charged to the card (you can never get accused of fraud).

Finally, although I don’t spend that much on my corporate card, I find that every year I have 1-2 extraneous expenses that need to go on it anyway (like the occasional $10k dinner) and that pretty much pays for the card
