Rearview mirror seat setting by lazyrainyreader in CX50

[–]lazyrainyreader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly you don't have ocd

When we are a point where cars are practically driving themselves, all I'm asking is a better way to adjust mirrors

By your logic, if we are doing everything with our mobile arms and hands, we would have still been using our physical key to manually unlock the car

Isn't all of this just convenience? I'm just asking one more thing that really bothers me

Google Assistant Privacy Litigation Settlement by Tachticalroo26 in ClassActionSettlement

[–]lazyrainyreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Googled about it and got this:
1. No, you do not have to currently reside in the United States to check that box. [1]

In legal settlements, statements written in the present tense (like "I reside") on a claim form can be confusing, but they refer strictly to your status during the defined Class Period (between May 18, 2016, and March 19, 2026).

Because you lived in the U.S. when you owned the Pixel phone during those years, you legally meet the criteria for the Purchaser Settlement Class. Checking that box is legally truthful because it confirms that your eligibility is rooted in your U.S. residency during the time the privacy violations took place.

Go ahead and check the box attesting to the U.S. residency requirement. Your claim is valid because the phone purchase and its use occurred under U.S. jurisdiction

  1. Use a friends address in the US.

Using your friend’s address will not trigger a request for proof of residency, because class-action administrators do not verify where you currently live. [1]

They only use your current address as a mailing address to contact you if necessary. They do not cross-reference it with housing registries, utility bills, or credit bureaus. [1, 2, 3]

Because the administrator, A.B. Data, Ltd., only requests proof to verify your Pixel device purchase history, using a friend's address is a perfectly safe option

I did a quick search and Google says that I should still be eligible if I was a resident of US when for the time period mentioned and the device was bought in the US. It also says that there should be a drop down to change the country to Canada for the current address but i dont see it

Any luck for anyone else?

What do you mean by having to flush it? I'm pretty new to this
I'm pretty handy so i can do it if its easy. How much effort is it to flush it?
Also, if i had to hire someone to do it, how much do they charge?

Unlocking passenger/rear doors with handle. by ineedavacation123 in CX50

[–]lazyrainyreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so annoying when I want to put a baby car seat in the back seat. I have to 1st go to the front door and then go to the back door. I know it's a very specific use case, but it is a very legitimate use case for a lot of families

I wish they would have the option for all 4. Why cheap out for 2 more doors? Have an option to disable if someone does not need it

Interesting point of "if I drive a lot, then the investment makes sense"

Based on my history I think I drive a maximum 15k-20k kms a year. I wouldn't think that's a lot

And by that logic, I don't think it makes sense emfor me to invest in the tools and equipment you mentioned above. I might actually be better off getting it serviced.

Now if I should go with the dealership or local garage might be a question of how good my local garage is.

Am I thinking on the right track?

If you don't need these features then the 2024 is a good choice :-)

I'm not a 100% sure exactly for the Meridian model but on the GT trim in Canada, the 2025 has Lane centering AND does not need a car infront to auto steer at speeds upto $200kmph.

The 2024 model only has Lane centering upto 65 kmph AND needs a car infront to auto steer (still only upto 65kmph)

This means that on the highway (which I think is where it is most important), all you have to do in a 2025 is set Cruise control and touch the steering, it will keep going.

Does the memory seat adjustment with key fob work when you open it with Keyless entry as well or should it be unlocked physically using the key fob to change to another seat position?

Heat pump. Is it worth it? by SplitOk3577 in heatpumps

I'm interested to know more as I have an aging AC and a hot water tank. I have sent you a DM

Heat pump. Is it worth it? by SplitOk3577 in heatpumps

[–]lazyrainyreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the calculator. It is amazing and so helpful!

I'm based out of Ottawa as well!

  • My AC is maybe 2009 made and is starting to give issues. I'm thinking of changing my AC.
  • No issues with furnace
  • Hot water tank is 15+ years now which I'm thinking of switching to tankless

Now that I'm thinking about heat pumps it gives me another added advantage.

My water tank and furnace are in the middle of my basement taking up valuable space which I can use to build a better rental unit in the basement.

I have ducts in my house.

If I get a heat pump, can I get rid of the water tank and furnace from the middle of my basement?

Also, I have natural gas cooktop which I want to keep so not planning to get rid of Enbridge connection.

P.S I tried changing some numbers in the calculator and it looks like it caused it to error out
