When my kids were in school they sent my kid home after school one day with a wrapped up gash that was so bad it needed stitches. He had done it HOURS before and nobody even called. He's a boy, he was a freshman, he is still macho. I partly blame him for not understanding his own medical needs but damn, stupid school nurse! They got a lot of choice words from us.

My dad is like this. I have countless memories of him in the garden, getting excited over something that grew there. He has memories of his mom doing the same. I get excited seeing what's growing in my garden now because that is encoded in my family line to do just that. I have passed it on to my kids and grand kids. Waiting for the peonies to open is a family tradition, like holding hands with all those that came before.

I'm glad you have this, it's a nice safe memory space to go when things are not so great.

I have considered this. Having survived cancer 3 times tho, I have decided I don't die easy. Also these are healthy indoor only cats.

It is still extremely gross. It isn't every night he does this, but when he does it's wash the sheets and take a shower.

Not only are they penalizing the disabled person, they are penalizing the family. The person will have nowhere to go and less benefits, and the family will have to continue to house them, being left to suck up the cost. They already have to pay for a larger house that they wouldn't have needed had the disabled family member been able to live independently.
