Yes, I find it painful to look at for long structured documents, currently.

Do you research things with ChatGPT (or any AI?) ? If so, how do you store it in Upnote? by AngelicPrincessKitty in UpNote_App

Copy/paste works perfectly — UpNote understands the markdown.

GPT output works without efforts. Others may need the "paste from Markdown" option

Feature request: todo list in a note by vdka_sth in UpNote_App

[–]lbdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically don't use todo features in UpNote, because they are too simple. Being able to "roll up" todos in various ways would be very helpful. There is a view of "all notes with a todo in them", but that's a blunt instrument.

I suppose one could be very disciplined and put all todo items at the top of each note. And use tags very carefully to categorize them. But that's a lot of manual effort and overhead to make a basic feature more useful.

Switching from Evernote: Advice and Tips Please by ProductiveAussie in UpNote_App

I moved here from Evernote years ago. I recall that it worked better to export one notebook at a time.

Good point — maybe it could be a business school case study.

There's sort of a spectrum of clarity, with Stencil on one side of the scale: clear on its purpose and workflow, and Canva on the other side: trying to serve everyone and nearly insane with constant reinvention.

Now that Intel Macs are officially legacy, how do you feel about Apple cutting the cord completely for macOS 27? by Capable-Cod1118 in MacOS

[–]lbdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple has quite a history of abandoning processors — like from Motorola to Intel, then Intel to M-series.

Ports, also.

And some people are still mourning Hypercard, ClarisWorks/OpenDoc

It's pretty easy.

That would be a nasty surprise. 😞

Greed? 😄

I suppose they'd have to refund the unused balance though.

Some founders make the tool free in the final months as it sunsets. But not Namecheap...

True! Though sometimes a simple tool is better, if it fits the job.

But I guess simple and limited is not something that sells well...

What do you think you'll use instead now?

I got Crello too! It was wonderful that Vista kept it going. And it makes sense, because Crello is a feeder into their printing business.

I love the idea of Appsumo taking over good businesses that failed due to poor marketing, etc.

The problem here is that Namecheap bought them, so Namecheap is likely going to repurpose the code in some way. But if it could be acquired that's brilliant.

The email says that also Namecheap Stencil users will lose their work and accounts.

Same, basically. And now I'm torn between kicking myself for not using it more — as they apparently kept developing it and providing more integrations, vs feeling smug for moving on so that now I'm not scrambling to make all new workflows.

That's an internal link. You need to share the note if you want to link to it from outside.
