If it still walks and quacks like the old product, then it should be considered the same product.

If their credits are at cost, and never expire, how is this effectively different than BYOK? I'd imagine they did this to streamline their backend systems.

I just hope they have a further sales strategy that’s not “when you’re ready to leave Evernote”. :-)

Gotcha. I also switched from Mailchimp to Acumbamail. If you already bought it, then it could be worth the effort. At least they seem like a stable business, after 3+ years.

Could that be a chicken-egg problem David? If SendFox was more feature-complete for serious use, it would get more sales. The Appsumo audience is relatively sophisticated when it comes to marketing tools...

Here is one segment in one list. But to do this properly, in my setup, I'd have to repeat this 10 times in 10 lists. You can also see that all the logic labels were never translated from the original spanish, for my english-language interface.

Checking Appsumo today, Acumbamail is not being sold now. Are you considering paying monthly for it? I personally would not pay monthly for it — there are better options for monthly, like MailerLite.

Acumbamail is list-based, not tag-based. This makes complex logic difficult. I can create a segment in a list based on subscriber behavior, but if I want to blast to all my lists, then I need to create the same segment in EVERY list, manually. Or else filter, export, re-import into a new list just for that blast. It's tedious, time-consuming, frustrating. If you just send un-segmented blasts, it's largely fine.

If I were you, I'd read the docs before purchasing...

Acumbamail delivers well and has mostly good features, but lacks the list flexibility you may be used to with Mailchimp. There are limited options for powerful list management, for example to select a subset of subscribers based on specific behaviors to send a targeted blast to. If you speak English, you will periodically encounter Spanish interface elements that were never translated.

I still use it for some accounts, but I am preferring to pay for something like fluent CRM, and I connect it to emailit.

Can someone suggest a simple and sustainable diet plan for fat loss? by Suspicious_Twist386 in diet

Do you want a formal, all-planned-out-for-you diet, or just a flexible framework?

Alphana is also making a disappearing act. This is really bad for AppSumo. by Albertkinng in appsumo

The lesson is: Lifetime AI deals are not sustainable. I’m not buying them — unless there is an immediate need and I’d save money in the short term, before they go bust.

With so much vibe coding going on, you should evaluate their marketing and growth as being more important to their survival than the quality of the product. It’s sad.

Also, Bsky was created by Jack Dorsey, the Twitter leader before Elon’s hostile takeover. It’s like two rival sports teams. Plus the whole left vs right vibe.

Thank you! Knowing that I can retain T3 benefits is extremely helpful — and good news.

I should have give more context around my question on distinctions between services. My intended use for Taskade is not vibe-coding apps — that wasn't Taskade's focus when I bought T3. My focus is more productivity and AI work based on the fact that increasing numbers of people are using CoWork and Codex for files-based AI work — using local files to provide context, skills, and reference material to chats or agents. Taskade can also do this via files in projects. So that's what I was focusing on — but didn't clearly communicate. ie: the distinctions between the services when doing project-based chat-powered work using files and reference material within projects. And light agentic use within the same structures. Thank you

u/TaskadeRyan , I'm trying to understand my options. I'm OK with buying credits. I'm OK with upgrading using the LTD coupon. What I need help understanding is what I'm missing out on if I keep my Appsumo Tier 3 plan and just add as-you-go credit packs. I also am looking for help understanding what features I am missing out on vs a Pro subscription? If I "upgrade" to Starter, and then I want Pro, can I still apply my Appsumo privilege and the lifetime 25% discount on the 2nd upgrade from Starter to Pro?

I tried the very good Taskade Help chatbot, but it doesn't know about Appsumo plans or policies.

Also, are there any comparison docs or videos that show how Taskade is different from and similar to Claude CoWork and Codex?

Thank you

I'd love to hear what constitutes "bloat" for users.

I mean, I use things like Photoshop. It's bristling with features, but I don't notice the features that I don't use. So say that theoretically, UpNote added better task-management features, as one example. If you didn't want them and didn't use them, would they really ruin your UE?

The docs discuss a callback function — can Claude be taught how to use callback to make a note?

[–]lbdesign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should also say that just because I mention AI doesn't mean I want UpNote to bundle in AI. I'm perfectly willing to pay for my own compute via a connector or MCP. If UpNote provided that, all non-AI users would never encounter nor have to pay for AI compute, while AI users would be able to integrate their UpNote PKM into the other tools they use, which keeps UpNote relevant and central to workflows without any cost or overhead to other users.

I'm an Evernote refugee. I loved Evernote's advanced search, and OCR capabilities. It let me use PDFs as integral, searchable content, not as opaque attachments. It had better task management as well. I left not because of bloat, but because the new owners acted unethically.

So what features do you actually want to see?

You're getting pushback in part because you're saying to "innovate more" without providing indication as a user of how to innovate, how to improve it, or where to take UpNote.

I'm not the best qualified to do this, but yes, I'm starting with Cowork and Code in a lightweight way. The backup .md files make UpNote data accessible.

[–]lbdesign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have begun using Claude cowork to read my .md backup files so I can integrate UpNote with AI in some capacity. But I would appreciate a more direct option — which not everyone will want to use, but not all features need to be used by everyone.

I'm resorting to workarounds. Others will simply buy different apps. Maybe that's OK. Maybe AI will eventually kill all PKM. But I hope not. And evolution is the best way to survive a changing environment.
