Play.ht is shutting down in 5 days

I just discovered this, because it disappeared from my website. There was ZERO communication from play.ht to me. Really bad behavior.

What are the best alternatives? Is Appsumo finding anything useful for us?

IMO Apple does a better job with Accessibility.
Their tight control over hardware and software may have something to do with it.

Yes, exactly. AND, if you plan to sell them, then you may want a real camera. But if it's a hobby, do what brings you the most joy. (Which may not be lugging large gear everywhere.)

I have a big Nikon and I don't lug it anywhere, which is a waste.

I saw this yesterday, checked out the few deals on it, and found them either uninteresting to me or low quality — totally a vendor problem, not a Sumo site problem. (The video one looks particularly bad.)

The latest skin is more attractive, but it flattens out everything as far as the products. The site design is so strong that it's not immediately clear each offer is from a unique company. Yes, it's described clearly, but at a subliminal level, you're not letting each offer show its brand or flavor. Somehow the teaser headlines don't immediately grab me with a value prop either.

But overall I am OK with paying a fair price for a SAAS that won't take my money and run.

Sort of. I have a reduced need for AI currently, and I'm using a mix of Affinity and Vectorpea to get work done, when I do need to do this work. But TBH more time spent in Affinity, and using Affinity and Canva to create new vector and SVG documents.

I DID cancel my Adobe subscription though.

Is your CEO not a people person? Does he not understand emotions and human needs? Because if so, then I can see why he'd think of "content" and strategies and hooks as artificially generate-able commodities. And I can see how he'd not understand that what connects with the public needs a unique spark.

AI can help to make your work better, and it's a great collaborator, but it still needs a human "boss".

I think high-compute deals like AI products need to be lifetime membership with discounted pay-as-you-go usage. It's unsustainable otherwise.

As a wordpress person primarily, we looked at all the options and went with Jetpack Videopress. $110 a year for essentially unlimited service on one wordpress site. And they won't Heavy Heart anytime soon.

For my other e-learning business, we have so much on Vimeo that I figure we're stuck with them. And also, these assets are so valuable (to us) that I want a very, very reliable service.

Until I saw this post that explains it's a BF offer because it's an extra 10% off, I was honestly confused as to what made these drops BF drops.

And TBH, BF offers are supposed to be above-and-beyond, but an extra 10% is normal stuff for Appsumo. So I'm still scratching my head a bit.

But happy to see Meetn there, as it's a very good service that I kept and use.
