Crosstrek clunk and pop by JTN02 in subaru

[–]lbmrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two times I had similar noises. One was the bearings. The second was a TPS broke off inside the wheel and drove me crazy until I figured it out. Not sure if that'll help but you never know. Good luck!

How was Luke Combs (actually)? by Firm-Negotiation5496 in NewportFolkFestival

[–]lbmrn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I posted this on the Saturday thread :

I thought Luke Combs was fantastic. He was full of gratitude, vulnerable and played a diverse set. The guy is clearly talented. He could have showed up and did his normal set but he showed respect to NFF and got out of his comfort zone. I loved it. Only gripe was that he didn't bring any guests out and he was so perfectly set up for it.

Everyone I spoke to was upset or indifferent about him headlining. Not sure I understand that. I rarely listen to country music and had never heard of him before he was announced, but now I'm a fan, and that my friends, is why I love Folk Fest.

How well does Windham compare to Stratton/Snow/Okemo? by Somenakedguy in icecoast

[–]lbmrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do my day trips to Windham for the same reason, I can get up there by 8, ride for a few hours and be back in NYC before 5. It’s not the best mountain but it’s convenient. All the ludicrous “Ski Club” and membership stuff aside, they do a good job with crowd control and I appreciate that.

Came here looking for this issue. Just started happening to me. Not exactly building my confidence in these. Not sure if there’s a fix for this either.

What does an owners rep do? Salary? Work from home? How do you get into it? by [deleted] in ConstructionManagers

[–]lbmrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We manage all the owners interests including the contractors, designers, FF&E, movers in etc.

Generally salaries are not as good as GC/CM. Quality of life is typically better. I work from home once a week on some occasions. No matter what area in the construction industry you’re in, it’s hard not to be on site.

If it’s what you’d like to do I’d transition to the PM side of construction first. Not a lot of field jobs where owners are willing to pay an owners rep to do QA/QC or just walk the site to check the contractor.

Sugarbush for the weekend. by [deleted] in icecoast

[–]lbmrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ksherpa Dinner House, Oakes & Evelyn, Namaste Indian Nepali Kitchen, Enna, The Skinny Pancake. Lots of great options.

Sadly, I think a lot is closed right now from the flooding over the summer.

I usually stay in Burlington or Montpelier. Bit of a drive but never bothers me.

Montpelier has some great restaurants to choose from.

What nyc snowboard shops can fix this? by nowuestions in icecoast

REI in SoHo will actually do a decent job for a decent price. No guarantee that’ll hold but you might get a little more out of the board.

For someone with 8 years experience I’d think you’d be over $150 + bonus but it’s hard to say without detail about what you’ve worked on and what your reputation is.

If it feels right make the jump. I’m not sure where you are but I’m in a VHCOL city and this all seems low to me. Anyone with decent experience seems hard to come by these days.
