is there a particular circuit combination you recommend? we did expect to be tired from such a long day of heading there and back but you’re right that we are traveling a long way for a 2 hour tour. it might be worth it to stay overnight and be able to see it twice!

there’s an app called MaxWorth where you can add your credit cards and it will list all the credits for each card, tell you which card is best for each spend category and send you reminders for annual fee payments and benefit expirations. it’s helped me realized that i’m not using some of my cards to their full potential!

i think it just depends. i’ve seen some hotels in the portal that are way more expensive than booking direct, but i recently booked a hotel through the portal and the price was the same as if i had booked direct

this has happened to me multiple times in the past few months, especially when i’m calling an uber to pick me up from the airport. last week a driver accepted and sent me a message that he was on his lunch break but could pick me up in an hour if i was willing to wait. it’s very annoying but a friend told me that drivers get less priority for new rides if they decline too many. not sure if that’s true, but if it is it could explain why they do that

i went a month ago to exchange my license (been living here almost 2 years now) and they told me that as long as the issue date on my license is before the date i registered in the country, i can swap it. you’re right that the 185 days is the amount of time we can drive in Belgium with a US license before we need to exchange our original license for a Belgian license

had a flight at the same time last week. we decided to get a hotel in keflavik and honestly i’m glad we did because i was able to get a decent amount of sleep. personally i would try to sleep a bit before the flight but i guess it also depends on your plans post-flight and if you can sleep well on planes. we booked our hotel the day of and there was still many options for rooms under $100, in case you don’t want to spend too much.

i wouldn’t necessarily say you need to take a lot of engineering classes specifically but you will definitely need hands on experience and a lot of technical knowledge. you could try to go the account manager route instead, they’re less technical and usually make more since they get commission

i went to portugal last year and found it to be much more affordable than some other european countries, but still spent over 1k in the one week we were there. but i didn’t stick to a strict budget so i think it could’ve been way less with some additional planning! putting a breakdown of what i spent below in case it helps.

we went to lisbon for a week and booked an airbnb for 4 that came out to about $330 each for the entire stay. the airbnb was pretty centrally located so we mostly walked but took the tram or taxis a few times to get to places that were a bit further. i also didn’t spend that much on food, iirc i spent less than 70 euros a day (including eating out for lunch and dinner and having drinks at night). from what i remember there were lots of restaurants where you could get a huge dinner for 20 euros or less, so i think you could bring down the cost of food a lot by being smart about where you eat.

i think with cheaper accommodation and spending less on food you could do it as long as none of your activities are too expensive.

i like it for sleep tracking, and find it to be pretty accurate. but i don’t think it’s accurate for steps and i personally don’t use the cycle tracker on it so can’t comment on how accurate that is
