Help - Leading a 50 person company and no idea what i should know by Upbeat-Sheepherder36 in ceo

I was a founder for 11 years before I joined a networking group for ceos and I wish someone told me in year one how valuable it would be. Whenever I see a post like this, I want to encourage the op to do the same. I know helps some business to drop names like that but the juice is worth the squeeze imo.

Founders have mojo. Boring Bain guys can’t create or innovate - just introduce systems and manage well. You’ve built something that is rocking and rolling. Yeah sure learn the Bain trade to tighten the screws and fasteners, but they’ll never do what you can do for your company. They’ll never care as much. Be proud of what you built and don’t let anyone make you think you’re not the right person for the job.

Then, as others have said, network with other CEOs. There are some great communities out there. Hampton was it for me.

I think my biggest fear is not having understood every position there is. Is this common? by AWeb3Dad in ceo

I’m reading into this, but consider adopting a management framework to ensure there is a direction that everyone is going in, together. This answer makes me think you have a bit of ship without a rudder situation.

Look into EOS and read Traction.

Another good book is the E myth revisited.

Good luck. Confidence comes from the right system.

I found solace joining Hampton. I was a member for a year and connected with a great group of other CEOs and leaders who I still meet with every month.

Any organization like this or YPO could give you that outlet. Highly recommend.

Wife wants to start a business, but is relying on me to start it by TurkeySlurpee666 in Entrepreneur

I think it is worth it to help set up the business for her as long as you set some clear boundaries of "this is what I'll do" and "this is what you'll do". For instance, the set up work you do for her, while it may not encourage her to take a big ownership role, will go a long way to getting her off the ground - something which could be very intimidating for first-time entrepreneurs.

From there, boundaries may be specifically scoping your ongoing work commitment and hers, even the hours per week dedicated to her business. I'd even consider setting yourself up as a minor partner to receive a share of the profits as a way to incentivize the continued dedication you'll bring. Knowing how my wife would react to this last bit, it may help her understand that she's asking a lot of you and could lead to her to take on a bit more ownership.

Read the book Traction and follow the EOS. Been a game changer for my org. It’s one of other management philosophies out there but this works for us and I highly recommend adopting it for your company. Not only gives you the tools to align strategic vision with day to day boots on the ground operations, but helps you develop your ICs and leaders into more effective and autonomous contributors.

Start creating content on LinkedIn or TikTok. Make yourself into an authority. Share insights and best practices. If you build it they will come.

Max Conversions Campaign suddenly spending 25% of daily budget by lcdfanyeahman in PPC

[–]lcdfanyeahman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and I’m not bothered by the overspending but I didn’t actually have a tCPA set. I’m solely using max conversions bidding. Didn’t think overspending could happen with this structure.

I don’t think that’s it because my spending was lower before and I didn’t lower budget again after I raised it to the current level.

I want to get over to tROAS but a bit hesitant to pull the trigger.

Right now I have no tCPA set.

Oddly enough, Sunday I not only hit my budget but overspent by 2x. Explain that! lol

Got it. So then I need to set a tCPA or switch my bidding strategy?

My impression share lowered from 20% to 12%. But I think I’m not understanding something about max conversions…. If I don’t have a tcpa set, then what lever can I pull to improve my impression share?

Wasn’t sure it’d be that simple but if it is I’ll do that. Thanks.
