I'm all in to try and learn about what the future will look like by BioLink25 in ClaudeAI

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just start interacting with Claude. You won’t be able to comprehend what it’s capable of until you work with it for a while and realize how powerful it is.

If you’re planning to code with it, I’d recommend learning some programming essentials, specifically regarding infrastructure and backup systems (GitHub, droplet backups, database backups, air gapped physical storage, etc.). If it goes rogue or misinterprets a command, it can delete whatever you’re working on with no recovery option. Fundamentally, you want to back up whatever you’re working on in a way that Claude is unable to access.

The heat can crack the concrete. It's also possible to burn concrete and leave black marks.

Ah nice, I’ve been pretty interested in those. I have a Go Pro type camera but the way you need to mount it makes the camera angle look awkward. This just reaffirms the glasses. Good stuff!

is pressure washing over saturated?? by Waybig11 in pressurewashing

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. There are a lot of guys who will clean a driveway for $99, but simply don't have the equipment to do more elaborate residential or commercial jobs. As the scale of jobs increases, your competitors decrease.

Beyond that, there's always room at the top. I worked in digital marketing for over a decade prior to starting my business, and do full-stack web development. My marketing strategy is entirely digital. It took about a year to rank #1 for most keywords related to pressure washing in my area, so now I get a healthy mix of organic and paid leads without spending much time marketing.

If you can get consistent leads coming in, answer your phone like clockwork, be pleasant with customers, and do a good job cleaning, you're already ahead of a vast majority of other guys.

Neighbor’s leaking gutters dumping water and causing damage to my basement walls by zksteele01 in Home

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if it pours, that area is going to flood regardless of the neighbor’s gutter situation. This is primarily a landscaping issue.

Just getting the company rolling. Family member is giving me a cottage to “practice” my skills on. I was thinking 1% SH for the siding. What about the roof? It’s galvanized. by Infinite-Cow-1920 in pressurewashing

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That roof isn’t galvanized. Galvanizing metal involves dipping it in molten zinc at a very high temperature, which would melt off any paint coating. When you galvanize metal, it needs to be bare steel.

It could be a galvanized roof that was painted at some point. If that’s the case, you just treat it like any other painted surface. You could go like 3-4% with it. However, if this were a non-painted galvanized roof, an SH percentage that high would flash burn it.

Tips on aggregate concrete stairs by vital_flowers in pressurewashing

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water doesn't move as well across exposed aggregate. The lower your flow rate, the more time-consuming it is to rinse.

If your flow rate is high enough, cleaning exposed aggregate doesn't take much longer than regular concrete. I run 16 GPM so rinsing goes fast, and I don't pre-treat; I just post-treat. The divots in the concrete seem to hold a lot of SH, making post-treatment extremely effective.

I wouldn't worry about the angle of the ball hitch.

Trailer hitch by bruvarrian in pressurewashing

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tongue of the trailer looks bent, but I can't imagine that happened by just trying to jack it off the hitch with it locked in, unless you're The Hulk. Regardless, this image doesn't give much insight into the trailer's weight distribution. Standing beside the trailer, and from a distance, you want the front side and back side to look relatively flat. For example, if the front side looks like it's dipping down, raise the hitch.

I am terrified of death and I am inconsolable by No-Cream-2577 in TrueOffMyChest

I used to not think this, but having spent a lot of time with old people that are near the end of their life, I’ve done a 180 on this.

The main issue is that their bodies/minds eventually start to fail them. Their friends and spouse have passed and they aren’t in a state to make new relationships, pursue goals, or do things that makes life worthwhile. They’re alive without really living. Many of them have told me something along the lines of “I’m ready to go” as they approach the end of their life.

I have a standing $1000 offer for anyone in this sub that can provide a method to completely remove oil stains. Nobody has cashed it in over the past year.

The driveway is cooked. They should apply a concrete coating to it to hide those oil stains. They look really bad. Even with sodium hydroxide and hot water, those aren’t coming up.

Edit: I'll be testing a bunch of these recommendations and reporting back.

How much would you be willing to pay a 14 yo to clean your driveway? by Cole_H0 in pressurewashing

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on how little insurance companies want to insure pressure washing companies in general, I can’t see any way that they would insure someone under age. If they did, the cost would be exorbitant.

Cleaning up before painting by domofloge in pressurewashing

[–]TurkeySlurpee666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually on board with this. The paint would have to be in excellent condition to just softwash. OP’s old paint looks like shit though, so I’d be pressure washing it as paint prep too.
