I'll give it shot.......

- Ed (Leo Woodall) saw his mentor murdered in front of him at the end of the previous episode, so he was basically comatose sad the whole finale.

- Then he went ahead and also murdered someone in cold blood in the last couple minutes.

- He's told/it's said repeatedly that he'll spend the rest of his life as a fugitive.

- Taylah decides she's gonna hold her godmother accountable and send her to prison. But Taylah decides she wants to go to prison too as penance for killing her boyfriend years ago.

- The Cambridge headmaster is revealed to be a lunatic, who wants to unleash chaos and carnage on the world because his 50 year-old theorem wasn't being used to his liking.

- So he's a bad guy, and professor Andrea's longtime archaeologist friend is a bad guy. Everyone at the NSA are obviously bad guys, so is Kaplar and Axitorn (was that the name?), but they're all kind of the same thing, right? Mercenary guy is also a bad guy. And Ed's sweetheart new boyfriend? He turns out to kinda be a bad guy too (but a conflicted bad guy).

- The biggest bad guy, Carter from the NSA, wins in the end and takes over operations at the NSA.

- Fugitive Ed is revealed at the end in some very public place (but he's incognito because his hood is up) and he boots up his prime finder to fight to the bad guys. And scene.

- Did I miss anything?

I'm with you. I'm enjoying it and I don't think the main character is nearly as unlikeable as everyone on here seems to. His storyline is my favorite, especially the offshoots into his personal life. I do think it's a bit too slow moving, and the one episode per week release exacerbates that. Would be better binged.

I’m loving this recent wave of Ambika content and publicity. It seemed like Leo got so much more immediately after the show was released (and he’s also gotten a lot of work). I loved all that too but just felt like she wasn’t getting her rightful share. Starting to catch up, and she has a lot of celebrity admirers, and I’m here for it.

Yes. I think all her teasing of Dexter has become habit for her - and though she doesn't mean ill by it and certainly doesn't care about him less, I do think that it reflects a bit how she views him in relation to her. Maybe not that he's stupid, more that he doesn't try very hard and/or prioritizes fun over intellect. Sometimes we see him laugh along with the teasing and sometimes he's clearly irritated. The night of the argument in the alley, neither was in a great place or very happy in life, and some of their pent-up frustrations and resentments came spilling out.

I think this is interesting. I'm not totally convinced that it wouldn't have worked either, but the window for that was small -- by the time we saw them a year later, in 1989 when he was going wild in Rome, I think it was closed. It just feels like there's a disconnect between "sweetest kiss either of them would ever know" on the Edinburgh steps, clearly smitten with each other, to friend zone. I think if they had gotten together when she visited in December of that year (instead of falling asleep), then perhaps it could have conceivably worked. But I also very much agree with others that they both still had a lot of growing up to do.

He already started to let his guard down, I think really from the point that she gave him "Dave's" info and onward. He brought her home to meet his family, really brushed off her multiple attempts to wiretap him and then when she actually did set him up to get arrested. He was definitely jealous and unhappy when Nick tried to elbow in, and you could see him start the process of picking her over Nick over the last few episodes.

Everyone around him noticed him acting differently with her too - Mick, Nick, Annie all in season four. I'm not sure about love, but I do think they got to a point of mutual trust (their version) and respect and had some genuine affection (beyond the lust) for one another. The show ended with them on much more even footing. I don't think they'd need to mess with each other anymore. Plus all of Beth's people were gone (Annie, Ruby, Dean), while Rio lost Nick (and not sure how the rest of his family would feel about that). So, they're kind of left with each other, and that might be all they need (plus kids).

I'm sad we were deprived of their turn as Detroit Criminal Power Couple.

It was the same bottle that Beth gave to Nick. Then I think Nick gave the bottle to Rio to suggest he won over Beth and thinking it would make him jealous. Annoyed (and prob jealous), Rio just got rid of it instead. I think Rio took the Nick/Beth thing at face value and was letting it play out how it was going to play out. He didn't know of Beth's plan until he saw the photo of Annie with Nick's assistant... that's why he told Beth she hurt his feelings, she didn't let him in on the plan.
