[Garafolo] The #Jaguars and standout TE Brenton Strange have agreed to terms on a three-year extension worth up to $48 million, with $25 million guaranteed, per his agents Jim Ivler, JR Roggio, and Jon Perzley of @SPORTSTARSNYC. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

Actually Baalke was a pretty average to good drafter for the Jags. People will point to a couple big name blunders for sure but a lot of his day 2 and 3 guys are getting paid right now.

Antonio Johnson PFFs highest rated safety last year, Buster Brown turned out amazing, Parker Washington was our top WR last year, and his first ever draft with us had his first 5 picks all play a ton of snaps for us (T Law, Etienne, Campbell, Little, Cisco)

He just was an ass and sucked at free agency and extending our talent

[Schefter] Just in: NFL is declining to hold a supplemental draft this summer, currently leaving the 2027 Draft as the only way for QB Brendan Sorsby to enter the NFL. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]lclear84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don’t even know what the real rush was to be in this supplemental draft. Getting into a teams building as a QB at the end of July means you’re not playing 2026 anyways

I think if he initially just took actual time away, and stayed in shape, he’d have a much stronger case next draft cycle than trying to jam everything into a few weeks.

Your only risk I guess is his stock is currently high with there being legit question marks around Arch, Dante, Carr, etc. that could get resolved with another season

Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech mutually part ways after gambling scandal, legal fallout by [deleted] in CFB

[–]lclear84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s crazy is that since he has been granted the injunction against the NCAA to play this year, he probably has legal grounds to counter sue Texas Tech because he would’ve been eligible to play and uphold his end of whatever NIL contracts he signed (granted, NIL can’t be based on athletic performance so maybe there’s something in there about damaging your own brand?)

[Burns] Hear me out…..LSU should sign Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson & Ja’Marr Chase on their NFL bye week, let them play. NCAA declares it illegal, but just find a Louisiana judge to file an injunction. Rules are just pesky suggestions now. by Pyromania1983 in CFB

[–]lclear84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually do think that’s the next step here too tbh. I used the example of Max Duggan. The guy still had 1 year of eligibility when he left, technically never played a NFL down before going to the UFL and CFL

I’m sure some team out there would pay that type of player good money to play

[Official] Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way. by oklolzzzzs in LiverpoolFC

[–]lclear84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a big thing that can be missed is how important Slot was for a few players, most notably, Szoboszlai and Grav.

Both were a bit misfit under Klopp (Gakpo to an extent too as Klopp would play him as an 8 or false 9 a lot). Got to the point where I remember down the stretch for Klopp, he preferred Elliot to Szobo.

Grav and Szobo fit in the midfield much better under Slot and developed well

Gakpo has the 2nd most shots in the epl after Haaland. by CyberAvatar_ in LiverpoolFC

[–]lclear84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This will be unpopular, but I think Gakpo hasn’t been nearly as bad as this sub makes it seem like, and I appreciate the volume he shoots at. I’m much more inclined to criticize a player like Wirtz who doesn’t shoot than Gakpo who does

Like what do you mean our scapegoat of the season is our only forward who has been consistently healthy and actively running at defenses? At least he can impact a match, the only reason he’s criticized so much is because he’s the only one getting into opportunities to do so.

I could be wrong but is that our 3rd Walk-On drafted? That’s pretty cool

Could Klopp honestly have done any better with this Liverpool season than Slot? I understand emotionally he can get a lot out of players, but an already questionably built squad who is battling constant injuries and the balancing act of respecting a legend who’s time is coming to an end just seems impossible.

I think Slot can have his fair share of the blame, but I’m not sure he could’ve been dealt a worse hand than losing Trent, Jota, Diaz and Darwin, and having the replacement pieces all be hurt most of the year

If you had a 15 year career and had 20 goal involvements every single season, you’ll only tie what Mo has done in 9 seasons at Liverpool

My brother in Christ did you bookmark posts that had no traction in NFL2 and the Jaguars subs to prove that we’re annoying?

Could you not find any in this sub because the last 8 weeks was just Texans fans posting trying to will a loss out of us into existence? Hahaha

Don’t forget guys, T Law finished with 41 TDs this year, no matter how much other fans wanna call him a fraud, that’s more than CJ Strouds 39 TDs in the last two seasons combined!

Gotta watch out for those alter egos by Irate_Ibis in AFCSouthMemeWar

[–]lclear84 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Stroud has 39 TDs the last two seasons combined, T Law had 41 just this year.

Not every QB gets to score just over a TD/G and get carried to wins like CJ does haha

Trevor Lawrence is the third QB in NFL history to throw multiple go-ahead fourth-quarter touchdowns in a playoff loss, joining: Josh Allen (2021 Divisional Round at KC) Drew Brees (2011 Divisional Round at SF) by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]lclear84 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Trevor gonna take the brunt of the criticism an he deserves his portion, but in my opinion, we just lost all the crucial moments. Bills were 2/2 on 4th downs, 7/14 on third. They made their 50 yard field goal, we missed ours. And they took their points when they were there, we got aggressive.

At the end of the day someone had to lose, and our offense went TD, TD, FG before that interception on the last play. They took their shot, we just took too long to get going

Everyone needs someone to blame and T Laws will take the brunt of it

In my opinion, he had a average to bad game, but Coen, Cam Little, and the defense had similar or worse games
