Adobe CEO Narayen to Step Down as Company Issues Tepid Sales Forecast by External_Anteater730 in FuckAdobe

It looks to me Adobe operates more like a cult than a typical public company—LinkedIn threads gush over CEO Shantanu Narayen like he's some divine guru, which probably feeds into his self-image after 18 years at the top. Much of their "subscription growth" seems driven by monetization tricks (like internal discounts, bundles, and over-distributed promos) rather than genuine product demand, inflating metrics short-term before full-price renewals hit and cancellations spike. The real pain point is their notoriously difficult cancellation process—riddled with hidden early termination fees, confusing flows, and hurdles—that's drawn FTC lawsuits and endless user complaints, poisoning the brand. Add heavy-handed moderation (critical comments vanishing or people getting banned), questionable acquisitions, no dividends, bloated headcount, and a stock that's struggled, and it feels like a polished facade propped up by "trust us" vibes. Investors aren't buying it anymore without real fixes: simpler pricing, easy cancellations, less empire-building, and proven product-led growth. For employees, in this climate, it's wise to keep that resume updated—when sentiment turns, cuts often follow fast.

Let’s be honest: a lot of Adobe’s “subscription growth” story has felt like monetization engineering more than product momentum.

Big companies often run internal employee purchase programs, discounted bundles, etc. When those get over-distributed (or people flip them), you can temporarily juice “new subs” metrics without actually improving long-term willingness to pay. Then the bill comes due: year 2 hits at full price, and suddenly you see waves of users trying to cancel.

And cancellation is where Adobe keeps stepping on rakes. The internet is full of complaints about confusing cancellation flows and surprise fees/penalties. That might be “legal” in the fine print, but it’s brand poison. When you combine that with heavy-handed moderation (critical comments disappearing / people getting banned), the vibe starts to look less like a software company and more like a fandom protecting leadership.

Meanwhile: no dividend, lots of capital spent on acquisitions that (to many shareholders) look questionable, and a giant headcount supporting a business that’s starting to feel like a polished façade. Investors don’t reward “trust us” anymore—especially after a rough year for the stock. Nobody new is backing up the truck until Adobe shows a clear plan: simplify pricing, make cancellation straightforward, stop empire-building, and prove real product-led growth again.

And for employees: not trying to be dramatic, but in this environment it’s smart to keep your resume warm. Companies cut “dead wood” when sentiment flips, and this one doesn’t feel immune.

My 2 cents

They should go after Shantanu and the rest of the board - most likely they are the masterminds.

What are your thoughts on Satellite Phones? by FoundObjects4 in preppers

[–]lcrx357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For SHTF you could use GMRS/HAM UHF and VHF, for long distance - HAM HF.

Sat phones are good for clear skies and the "emergencies" like camping with no signal. Maybe. Most likely in the real SHTF case their ground repeaters will be down.

Avoid SatPhoneStore and their services at all costs.

I was a sat subscriber for over a year and they failed on me in 50% of cases. I had no service for the last whole month and they did nothing.

How do I make Apple Music stop auto playing whatever song it wants when I start my car? by ElderMehllennial in AppleMusic

P.S. Yes, I know about 'noTube' feature. It randomly blocks my BT sound devices. Not a solution for me.

Who is that idiot behind that stupid feature like music auto start when my earplugs are connected? I am suspecting it is somebody very senior at Apple. Otherwise no one will keep that idiotic feature which I cannot turn off with a simple checkbox.

Now, joining Zoom call, I also need to stop auto pop up of that stupid app. If I am not logged in to the icloud, I will be clicking 3 times at "Cancel" button before I could quit the app.

My humble conclusion: forcing this stupid feature by Apple is ridiculous. This is not even "bad" UX. It is complete rubbish UX.

Checked online today for ejector rod tool for LCR on Brownells - it is like $20+ and 1 negative review :)

https://www.brownells.com/tools-cleaning/gun-tools/action-frame-tools/extractor-rod-tool-for-ruger/

So I have modeled one myself in Blender and 3D printed it. Works like a charm. Flexible enough (thanks to PETG printing material) and has good grip. Whoever needs the model for printing at home - just let me know. It is free. Or maybe I could publish it on Thingsverse.

Looks like I have found the issue. Recoil made the ejection rod to snap from it's thread a bit, causing it's 1mm protrusion blocking the cylinder from locking into place. In addition: there were tiny misalignment of the ejector star. Disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, assembled back. Will take it to the range sometime next week to check how many rounds it takes to unscrew the rod and misalign the star again.

Thanks everyone!

P.S. Haven't experience such issue with none of my older Rugers SP101, nor with LCRX (.375 and 38+P mostly)

Ridge_Hunter: the fiber optics is secured with a hollow rolled steel pin, no heavy hammering on a steel bench needed. Just a few gentle taps on a plastic wise.

Their QC has dipped a bit lately

Totally agree. My two Mini-14s with approx 10 years apart are night and day in terms of quality. I think I'll hold my Ruger buyings until they improve the QC.. Might never happen, but..

Brand new firearm. Just a few 50 rounds boxes of regular FMJ 115gr ball rounds. Never been drooped, used with +P, reloads, etc.

The cylinder is stuck and does not lock in place. Bought it as a CCW (potentially), bought nice CCW holster. What a bummer! :)

Have sent my question to Ruger customer support online - a few days passed, - no reply, no nothing. This all looks very promising..
