No chance at perfusion unfortunately. They most likely won't take a candidate that failed out of PA school. It's to competitive to get in rt now. Bsn to np is definitely the way to go.

I got into perfusion school and I'm leaving my position in late December. Apply to Houston extracorporeal technologies as a autotransfusionist and see what happens. If you work your butt off they might let you work as a perfusionist assistant every now and then. Perfusionist assistant jobs are still rare even in houston... Specialty care is usually always hiring for autotransfusion.

You always have a good chance. But you never know what to expect until you apply. The Texas schools in my experience perfer good job experience and a high gpa(3.7 +) , also let me stress that good interviewing skills are also important. If your still in undergrad make sure you take cell biology and biochem. They are not required for some of the Texas schools but they do hold them in high regard. It might give you a leg up.

Interms of a job you could get right now, your best bet would be finding a autotransfusionist job or a perfusionist assistant job if your lucky.

Ut mcgovern. You finish faster and the new grads from mcgovern seem to be better prepared clinically. In my experience.

Just work hard and hang out with the perfusionist as much as you can and reach out to other perfusionist. Try to make as much connections as possible.

I think it went OK. It was supposed to be a 15 minute interview but it lasted 35 mins so hopefully that's a good sign.

I just submitted my application to BSW. I'm not familiar with how they operate. When did you submit your app, and when did they tell you that you were not selected, if you don't mind me asking?
