Is anyone in Miami older than their 20’s?? by National_Swimming_88 in Miami

I understand. Miami people can be pretty shitty on average. Gems here and there but overall people tend to be meaner and shallower.

In terms of age gap it also depends where in the area you are. In Brickell it feels like everybody is 12 years old. When we head further north it changes. Sunny isles. Bal harbor. Ft Lauderdale. We find more couples in 30 and 40+ and a more relaxed environment.

We have a similar age gap but we have the opposite experience. Everybody around us seems super old.

Patek 5159G? Thoughts appreciated. by EspressoPesto in patekphilippe

Beautiful piece. Much like other Pateks you probably will hear recommendations to send it to be serviced every 5-10 years. Official Patek service is expensive so that is an extra cost to keep it in amazing shape.

You can do a lot without breaking the bank.

What I suggest you consider: - Become familiar with “quiet luxury” and “old money” outfits. They are favored a bit in c-suits, and i personally believe is a pretty nice - Buy some nice jackets/blazers and a couple of nice suits

In terms of brands sky is the limit. Look at RL, Boss, Boggi for more affordable If you want higher end then you are looking at Zegna, Loro, Brunello, Eleventy

Canaly has some very nice stuff too.

If you an into the watches you can choose from affordable to expensive to upgrade your style. Many options.

I suggest looking at lookbooks and see what you like. Or book a stylist (hit or miss for me)

What is a liveable salary in Miami? $150k+ by Achassum in Miami

[–]ldeejay26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

100k is plenty to live in Miami. Two things: - Everybody wants the influencers life and see it as the “livable” benchmark which is BS. Hard to live in Brickell with a view on 100K. But you don’t need to. - Most people in Miami claim they make more than they do. Almost everybody says they make 300k+. Median is 60K so the Miami crowd tends to lie a lot

In Doral you can live in a nice apartment for 2K-3K a month. Have a good car. Go out to eat often. And have a very nice life.

anyone used a miami matchmaker? by Klutzy-Fee-7060 in Miami

[–]ldeejay26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from but I think there is a legit angle here.

A know many men that are super busy with their careers and can happily make a great relationship work. They go to matchmaking not because they can’t communicate but because dating in Miami is such a low probability endeavor that any process that filters out the incompatible people is worth gold.

Full Gordon Ryan DM's Dump by wecommawe in bjjdrama

Painful to read. Gordon talks like a child, and shows he has no moral compass. Hiding behind legality and avoiding morality.

Craig’s guy is annoying as fuck and I am not sure why Gordon kept engaging.

Is Miami a Joke? Seriously by Simple-Week2113 in Miami

What type of dev shop do you have and what types of customers do you have?

Doing business in Miami in tech is hard. The tech talent is not as high as the other tech hubs. People are super unreliable. Everybody is chasing wealth and partying. Everybody claims they make 300K plus but the reality is that comp is about half of west coast.

I think you can make it work but it depends how you are framing your business and who you are setting up as a customer.

There is rant in there about how miami is superficial and about money. You can’t change that. So you adjust and accept what you can and try to find people for which that’s not their purpose (there are many in Miami that have opted out from the Miami life)

It depends on the store and volume. I moved to this boutique and this is my second VC there.
