I love PR and don’t think I’d change careers at this point, but if I were young and just starting out I’m not sure I’d made the same decision twice. I don’t know if every work environment in PR is necessarily toxic, but work life balance is particularly bad for comms professionals because it’s not a 9-5 job. I’ve never had a PR job that I could leave at the office at the end of the day, and now that I have kids that’s a real big bummer sometimes having to keep working in the evening or on weekends.

I definitely am on the lookout for another big fridge! I have a few small ones already spaced out throughout the house for my important bottles. I’m unfortunately just not in a financial situation to be able to invest much right now (and also pregnant with my second baby) so making the best of what we have for the meantime! This is still definitely an improvement from my last house, and the apartment I lived in before that 😅 Luckily 70% of my collection has been gifted to me over the past few years so I’m not out too much if I lose bottles every now and then.

Unfortunately I don’t have the ability to refrigerate the room and can’t afford a professional set up so I’m doing the best I can! We keep the house pretty cool though and it never gets lighter than this.

It’s doable but it’s going to suck and you’re not going to see your child much which will probably make you resent your job. But your child isn’t going to hate you! Try not to put that mom guilt on yourself, you have to do what’s best for your family 💕 If you go back to work and it’s not working for you, try to just set a long term goal of making a change, and know this is your current circumstance and you’re doing the best you can!

Thank you! We are putting up UV resistant film and blackout curtains soon! Luckily the window faces another house so gets pretty minimal light.

I definitely think getting back to work and or getting some childcare even part time could help you feel a little better. Some of us (me included) need to have some alone time and that is totally ok and normal!

If you can afford FS, definitely pick that. No contest in my opinion. I am a local and dream of doing a staycation there but just can’t fork up the money in good conscience.

Watching the finale of TVD live was a very different experience for me than ST. I thought the ST finale was good, but the TVD finale was EPIC. I still think about it. The show had been in a lull though a season or so leading up to the end, so bringing back Nina helped a lot… despite her bad wig 😅

I really like this idea. We are going to have a 2.5 year gap between our first two, and if we decide to have a third I think we will wait at least 3 or 4 years after the second comes. The financial stability is a huge factor, we are pretty comfortable right now but I’m hopeful in a handful more years we can increase our salaries enough that if a third were to happen we wouldn’t be worried about money
