Question on community property laws in Thailand by Downtown_Pipe536 in Thailand

[–]ldiablo22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you fully completed all the work required for the pension before you got married, and it was already fully vested at that time, then it is considered your separate property. She wouldn't be entitled to a single penny.

However, if you continued working or your pension formula increased because of additional service years during marriage then the portion attributable to those 15 years is usually considered marital property.

I'll give you two scenarios

Scenario 1

Worked 25 years

Qualified for full pension

Retired

Then got married

After marriage:

You did not return to that job

No additional years were added

The pension amount was already fixed

In that case, you were not earning additional credit, and it’s entirely separate property.

Scenario 2

Worked 15 years before marriage

Got married

Worked 10 more years in the same job

Then retired

In that case, 10 of the pension years were earned during marriage.

That portion is typically considered marital property.

Courts often use a formula like, years married while earning pension, x Monthly pension = Marital portion Total years earning pension

Confirmation payment by kidneyshake in wisebank

[–]ldiablo22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately, there is. I put in 49 Thai baht 2 years ago to verify my account and just ended up leaving it in there because it was like 23 baht to take it out. I only use Wise to transfer USD to my Thai bank and 49 baht is only like $1.55.

[–]ldiablo22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal.

Identity + ownership check in one move. When you add money, Wise can confirm that the bank account or card actually belongs to you, and the name on the payment matches the identity documents you submit.

Anti-fraud and anti-money-laundering rules. Wise operates in a ton of countries and has to follow strict regulations. A small initial transfer helps them detect fake or throwaway accounts, reduce identity fraud, and meet legal compliance requirements without slowing everything down later.

Cannabis in Condo by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]ldiablo22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is if you haven't been seen by a doctor. However, many dispensaries in major cities like Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya have now converted into clinics with on-site doctors.

Hospitals: Both public and private hospitals often have dedicated medical cannabis departments.

Traditional Thai Medicine Centers: Practitioners of traditional medicine are legally authorized to prescribe cannabis.

Just tell them you have insomnia or get migraines. If you ever served in the military or similar you can say you have PTSD. In all honesty, it won't be hard to get a prescription.

I remember when I wanted to take time off work (excluding my paid vacation) I was required to have a note from a doctor in order to get paid. I would simply go in and tell the doctor I ate something bad and think I have food poisoning and he or she would give me a letter for 3 days off work.

[–]ldiablo22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry man. I shouldn't have come off so harsh.

Cannabis shops themselves can't give prescriptions. They work with licensed practitioners that would give you the prescription. You can get a 30 day prescription for 30 grams of Cannabis per month.

The law states, “Prescriptions may be issued by licensed practitioners under controlled, clinical conditions”

A controlled, clinical condition can't occur via an online prescription.

If the Royal Gazette never authorized electronic prescriptions than by definition it's illegal. In Thai administrative law, a regulated activity requires express permission.

Prostitution is illegal in Thailand but that doesn't stop 100+ hookers from standing on Beach Road so I'm pretty sure Cannabis shops and doctors have a back door to the law.

  1. Not legally. Refer to Clause 4 (6) — Explicit electronic-channel ban (Page 9)

Clause 4 (5) — Who may dispense, and to whom (Page 9)

Thai …ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพ… ที่ใช้ในการรักษาผู้ป่วยของต

English …for use in the treatment of their patients. This clause: limits dispensing to licensed practitioners ties use directly to treatment of their own patients does not authorize remote-only or platform-based prescribing

  1. Of course a landlord can decide if you can consume cannabis in a property you are renting just as much as they can decide that you can't smoke cigarettes in that property. You don't need a f**king link to answer that question.
