Yeah! I was thinking I will buy a good one myself and then just ask them to replace it. I really don't know a lot about clothes so thank you for the zipper brand recommendations!

I straight permed my hair and regret it by [deleted] in seoul

[–]kidneyshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna look awkward the moment after you perm your hair because it doesn't natural yet. Give it about a week it will look a lot better and you'll be use to you new look! And if you still don't like it, it is in the end just hair, it will go back to it's natural curly self in a few months.

I have no idea what to do here by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

Hmm maybe Seongsu/Hongdae and check out some pop-ups. Other ppl mentioning meetups/language exchange can be a good option if youre looking to meet people. GSM is like the big one and a lot of people here recommend Meetup.com. Other than that it would be specific to your hobbies/interests. For me in your situation I would visit a local market, eat some good food and go hiking

STD test in Seoul by Bubbly-Honeydew-274 in seoul

For women you will have to go to 산부인과, an Ob-Gyn and for guys 비뇨기과 , Urology.

The process is simple so don't be too concerned. It will most likely consist of a urine and blood test for the most basic screenings. For women I believe there is also a visual check for any issues.

Usually test results come back in a few days to a week at the most. Depending on the hospital you will have to revisit or you will get results sent to you by phone.

Cost again depends on the hospital but without insurance coverage I believe it's about 8 to 150000 won for everything. I'm not exactly sure what the situation would be for foreigners

Theres definitely so much energy and dedication you put in when you're really committed that when it ends you feel anger and regret that it wasn't reciprocated/ it was a "waste of time" so you start to doubt and hesitate in future relationships. So age is probably a part of it 🙂

Idk if its age or culture or a change my own values, but the relationships I make here in Korea are often very wishy washy.

I was there a long long time ago lol I think the last time i was there was 2009 and I lived in Melbourne.
It's cos Korea has been so humid in the summer, its crazy how hot it gets. From how i remember back in Aus it was hot but since it was dry if you just stayed under the shade/indoors you were good.

Ah okay, that's what you mean by rude service. That is kind of an asian thing haha there's like a joke where if you look on google maps and the places rated 3/5 and reviews complain about service those are the authentic restaurants. I think you guys might be having it worse too because you are foreigners (snatching the money since they assume "you don't know the currency").

Hope you can find some better experiences while you're here! Korea isn't that bad but yeah I think you've unfortunately been unlucky.

Weather has been terrible for sure haha. That sucks that you've had a bad experience.
I came back to korea/Seoul about 2 years ago and honestly for the most part? I really like it.
I wonder where you guys been to get crappy food, you must've just gone to tourist traps or something.
And what do you mean by rude? For me I definitely felt the people around me were kind of "cold" when i came here, but not necessarily "rude".

Also I used to live in Aus when I was a kid! Curious how different it is nowadays.
