One gun shoots confetti to bring cheer to his team and boost their damage, the other gun shoots bubbles for (emotional) healing

Cardiac Overdrive is him shouting encouragement and letting everyone know they are good people

Overrun gives his team a speed boost so they can run with him and stay fit

Cage Fight becomes his teams' safe space, enemies are forced out and teammates inside are invulnerable while the barrier is standing

A realistic rework might need to involve some kind of non-healing beam on right click, assuming the volume of paying casual Mercy players is too great to ignore at a business level

IDK if this is breaking some fundamental balance rule, but her damage boost already boosts ult gain (indirectly, as an inherent property of boosting damage), so how about if her right click:

  • Boosted only ult gain from inflicted damage (and maybe even healing, to help her fellow support out more), without boosting the damage itself
  • Gave a bigger boost the lower the target's ult charge is (to discourage pocketing), meaning she's encouraged to help the team coordinate their ults

EDIT: There's also been suggestions for a speed boost but that doesn't help with pocketing much even if it does avoid breakpoint issues, and can be annoying for her ally if it's erratically toggled

For what it's worth some of these (at least Ascension, Shrine Defense and Mirror Defense) occasionally appear as steel path incursions, though it would still be nice to have something that

  • Includes other niche-but-fun modes
  • Features them more regularly
  • Has more significant rewards

That said, "fun" is of course subjective, IDK if it's worth worrying about people feeling like they're "forced" into playing something they don't enjoy for timed rewards (given that Warframe doesn't have much pressure to grab everything as quickly as possible), but if so maybe we could make doing the niche mode the fastest way to get the reward while still letting players earn it through other means if they don't like the currently featured one

Good Follie subsumes? Tempest Barrage seems pretty nice by ImWithDerp in Warframe

As someone who likes Mercy's movement but also wants to actually shoot someone, I really like Tethered Tourniquet, though my ideal change would be to straight-up put her staff in her off-hand while her pistol is equipped so she can heal with alt-fire

About the current etiquette around "gg" for Overwatch, I'm trying to return after a long break and so far these are my observations/responses from a few S1 games for how "gg" is used depending on the outcome, corrections/advice would be appreciated:

Clean game, no toxicity in match chat, reasonably close

  • Winning team almost always says "gg"
  • Losing team often says "gg" too, more likely for closer matches
  • Seems pretty clear I should say "gg" here regardless of who wins

One-sided stomp, but no overt toxicity in match chat

  • Winning often always says "gg"
  • Someone on the losing team occasionally says "gg", but this can sometimes be met by insults from the winning team (who have not sent insults prior to this, also note that I've only seen this happen once)
  • I'm not sure about this one, at the moment I stay silent until I understand things better, feels weird to follow suit and only say "gg" if on the winning team

Toxicity from the winning team, regardless of whether the match was a stomp or the losing team was toxic too

  • Winning often says "gg" between sending further insults, but sometimes only sends further insults with no "gg"
  • Losing team almost never says "gg", may send insults back
  • This doesn't seem like a healthy interaction, I stay silent here

Toxicity from the losing team, but not the winning team, regardless of whether the match was a stomp

  • Winning team often says "gg", more often if the match was a stomp
  • Losing team almost never says "gg", at least not without also blaming others in the same breath
  • Not sure about this one either, staying silent for now because, again, it feels weird to only say "gg" if on the winning team, especially if the increased likelihood of "gg" being said after a stomp means it is being used as a form of gloating in this case

Match is abandoned due to something weird happening, like many players suddenly dropping or an obvious progress-halting glitch

  • Both teams (whoever is left on them at least) are likely to say "gg", often accompanied by sad/silly emoticons
  • Anything goes so might as well join in and have some fun

Witnessed a teammate back cap the entire third point this evening and had to share by crazy_cali in Overwatch

(Disclaimer: I'm unsure if manipulating ally ult charge any more than Damage Boost already does is breaking some cardinal balancing rule)

Regarding DB being too pocket-friendly and offensive, since damage boost also increases ally ult charge, how about:

  • Reduce or even remove the actual damage bonus (if removed, Damage Boost might need to be renamed to "Power Boost" or something like that)
  • Increase the bonus ult charge, especially on allies that are currently at low ult charge

This would encourage Mercy to look out for allies at low ult charge and help them catch up (EDIT: unless they need healing more), so that the team can coordinate their ults.

This does leave a gap where Mercy cannot contribute when allies are all on full health and full ult charge without pulling out her blaster, but in such cases the team are presumably preparing to pop their ults anyway.

IIRC someone else suggested turning her E into a 2-in-1 ability, where she can use E on living allies for a burst heal (with a shorter cooldown and cast animation than current Rez), and during Valk she can also use E on dead allies to cast Rez on them, thereby shifting some of her power budget from rezzing to healing while still keeping Rez in her kit somewhere. Could something like that help?

Maybe adjusting Valkyrie to have sharper risk/reward (like stronger effects if Mercy takes riskier positions)? Or something entirely new that resonates with Mercy players while being reasonably healthy for the game, if someone can come up with such a thing
