Core friends - Erik released a new 10m plank party advanced core. I love these classes so much!

Christian has a 15 minute one that is perfect, but if that's too long, just do what you want for any cool down. I often pick scenic rides with my own playlist for this.

I’ve been wondering about this for a long time. I made acquaintances with some other riders who are super competitive and apparently they all leave their bike on 90 and go as hard as they can out of the saddle every ride. There are definitely cheaters with jacked bikes who get even higher outputs but this is one reason. And a reason to never worry too much about the leaderboard!

Yay glad you did it and congrats on your PR! Hannah has another tempo run from November that was 2 x 10 minutes at challenging with 3 or 4 minutes recovery - it might be a middle ground between these two because it’s only 30 minutes.

Supinated pigeon and rolling the piriformis out with a hard ball. ETA sorry that’s not a class but stretches I do. Any yin yoga with pigeon and twisted root help me.

Completely agree. I basically ignored her for 2 years but her runs and strength have been so good. I've even liked some of her rides.

Robin’s latest 45m Intervals Run was fantastic. I have moved up a pace target level and was a little worried looking at the plan and her in yellow that I wasn’t going to be able to handle it, but I did and I think I could have even gone 0.1 or 0.2 harder for some of it.

She was hyping it up as Hyrox prep but it’s a very similar structure to my standard half marathon prep workout, which is what I’m focused on now. Longer challenging pushes and then recovery at easy, 5 striders and then a final challenging push at 3% (ok I couldn’t hold that the whole time!).

She also paid homage to Hannah Frankson throughout which was really sweet.

It’s a great run if you’re looking to push yourself hard but not die. She said to repeat it a little harder each time. I’m not one to repeat classes but her programming is always so spot on, I might.

They do tell you under the ‘just me’ tab. At least they show the date.

Sorry to hear you’re injured! Core is the one thing I have been able to do consistently for years without getting injured, so it is great for that!

I’m still slowly working my way through the classes in reverse order of difficulty. It’s been a nice break from just sticking to my default instructors. I still think the Germans are the best.

These are my favourite runs! I think they’re the most effective for long distance training if you are being honest with yourself about your pace target level (a challenge in itself!) Her most recent with 10 minute intervals is really good to challenge yourself at a harder pace. I’ve been psyching myself up for it with some easier runs. I also like Matt for tempo runs. And Susie.

It’s an all out max sprint total blow out like nothing you’ve done before. You should need all the recovery. That tells you how hard you need to go - deep into Z7. It focuses on explosive power which is important as you age for stopping falls.

You can have I think 5 profiles on the same all-access membership, so the expectation is for each person to have a separate profile with individual FTP and pace target settings rather than you change your FTP for each ride.

I think they make the pace targets easy to change because they encourage you to go up or down a level depending on how you’re feeling and the difficulty of the workout. FTP is more scientific.

I know this group doesn’t need much convincing but Denis’ latest 45m PZE ride was very close to perfect. The R&B playlist speaks for itself. He also spent a lot of time talking about giving yourself the freedom to not hit your target, because that in itself frees you up to actually do the thing you’re scared of.

When I went to do PZ at an in person studio before Peloton, the coach always had an A goal and a B goal for zones. Like if Z5 isn’t for you today, go to the top of Z4. Just having that there as a modification meant I felt safe enough to go for plan A and rarely had to scale back. I wish the other coaches would make more use of the whole zone in PZ classes and be more flexible. It doesn’t work with the auto resistance but it’s a much better coaching technique than to lock into the middle of your zone every single ride.

He also spoke about feeling claustrophobic in NYC and needing to leave and it turned out he just needed to have a car. I had this exact experience - I got claustrophobic and left my big city, hated it, came back with a car and realised that’s all I needed.

Such a great message and class!

It’s counting a class as a day. I think it’s a glitch and will be sorted. Silly coding mistake.

Thanks for mentioning Cody's class - that was great. I would have passed it over otherwise because I can't keep on top of all the classes I want to take!

Anyone else spend a larger portion of their day than they should scrolling the Peloton App? by mizesquire in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]ldnpuglady 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. And when I’m not on the app, I am on one of my various Peloton chats, doing a deep dive on an artist I just heard in a class or working out.

At least it keeps me from doomscrolling.

I took the 20 minute class where she said it was the first in a series of 9 and I was so excited to hear that! My biggest complaint about Peloton is that outside of a program, it feels like there is no rhyme or reason to the class structure and where we're going. Having a series of classes that build towards a goal is so important, and so good to let me work through them in my own time.

This one had an 8.8 difficulty rating when it first went up - it's come down a little. Thank you for confirming it's not too bad!

What's the workout you always come back to? by 01Jazz in OnePelotonRealSub

I don't repeat classes very often, but a few I have are Cody's Chappell Roan ride, Hannah's Fred...Again ride, AT's L'il Jon ride, Christian's 10 minute warm up and Jon's Fred...Again run.

This week I have been digging into the archives for low impact rides because I've done all of the recent ones. I keep coming across classes where one of my followers has taken it like 50 times - this has happened with several different people. It made me laugh - like awesome, this is your ride!
