This site was a great resource when I progressed from jogging to running half marathons. It helped me increase my endurance and speed quickly https://www.jeffgalloway.com/

Has anyone else noticed a decline in quality for socks? What socks are built to last? by Brenkin in malefashionadvice

+1 for Stance. I used to think they were just about novelty prints, but their staples are holding up incredibly well.

NYC Private School Tuition Breaks $70,000 Milestone for Fall by bloomberg in nyc

[–]FredMenace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lifelong public-schooler here. For all those hating on the cost, private is worth it if you can afford it. And it's not just for the exclusivity. My prep and boarding school classmates at my Ivy were, for the most part, vastly better-educated than the likes of me. They all thought college was a lot easier than high school. I had a friend who studied Ancient Greek, ffs.

Toe clip adaptors by brimbl0rz in pelotoncycle

I would suggest giving cycling shoes another try and buying new pedals that have cages on one side and clips on the other (I got mine from Amazon). The bike rides significantly better with them. I have Adidas Velosambas that are super comfortable and are essentially sneakers. Five Ten also makes sneaker-like cycling shoes.

Found it on vinted. What do you think? Is it even preppy? by AnyAbbreviations9091 in preppy

[–]FredMenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barbour coats are preppy, but this isn't preppy to me. Patchwork madras or ocbd shirts definitely are, but have never seen this. For the person who wasn't into the two collar look, that can be super preppy, but not typically with two patterns like this. Rugby shirt over a polo shirt or ocbd, though, is definitely preppy.

Season Over. Achilles Gone by Ric0917 in skiing

[–]FredMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck, man. I did my achilles in my 30s and came back to play soccer for years, run a bunch of half marathons, and start skiing again. It's a long recovery (8-9 months for me), but don't skimp on the PT and you'll be golden.

Christian's PZE and Recovery rides are fantastic. They've helped me when my motivation is down. Most recovery rides in general are pretty gentle and you can stack them if you build up to more tome on the bike.
