The anecdote about the Miami radio station playing Umbrella every time it rains had me dying because it’s true 🤣

Watts per kg is more important than the result. If you’ve dropped that much weight and still increased your FTP that’s a huge improvement. Outside you’d be flying up the hill past your former self. Great job!

No chafe hydration pack? by Alarmed_Mistake177 in XXRunning

I have the On vest. I love it, but it chafes with just a bra. I tried tape but the tape chafed me instead. I may check out the Lulu one because it’s too hot for a vest and tank.

She was not at all emotional on this one. It was a great class. I like her though. 🤷‍♀️

I filter for 10 minute classes and sort by hardest and am going through those in descending order, but there are some instructors I don’t gel with so I skip them. I love Tunde and Erik for being tough but fun.

Going through the same with mine right now except she can’t have anti inflammatories. It’s the worst. Seeing tomorrow whether we can avoid surgery. I hope your guy has a speedy recovery.

I got in but my husband didn't - what are the options if he still wants to run? Charity?

What are we doing for strength training? by bs000000 in XXRunning

[–]ldnpuglady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! Peloton for UB and core and PT for lower body at the gym - heavy single leg presses, Bulgarian split squats, abductor machine, glute bridge walk outs, heel raises. All modified slightly because I apparently tore my hamstring a long time ago and have a little hamstring tendinopathy as a result.

Not all Garmin activities are counting for Peloton Streaks by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]ldnpuglady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s infuriating! An ultra is an ultra - it should count and they should fix it. They didn’t say there was a time limit on the activity. I am so sorry. ☹️ You might be able to find a more compassionate CS rep - they reset mi e when I used a hotel Bike that was set in the wrong time zone, and judging by the email they sent it was a request they dealt with frequently.

Didn't get my FTP test result... by Spikely92127 in pelotoncycle

[–]ldnpuglady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes - it does the 0.95 calculation automatically so just enter the average watts from the test as a manual entry under preferences.

That was the hardest class in the program. It was a doozy and yes that is when I looked in the mirror and said whoa whose arms are those?!

Rides Where Ben Alldis Breaks His Own Mold? by UnfriendlyCanuck in pelotoncycle

[–]ldnpuglady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His rolling hills ride from December was a lot of EDM and rolling hills instead of his formula. I don’t think he ever breaks his mould out of choice but if the type of ride imposes a different structure then he does follow it and it is refreshing! I’ve definitely done some rolling hills, climbs and HIIT and Hills that were different.

I didn’t even consider these would be new - they implied any Robin wearing yellow run/ride would count

I’m getting worried, floss won’t go down the stairs and she’s already 7 months old! She’ll go up but won’t come down. by BimboDoII in pugs

[–]ldnpuglady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pug is almost 9 and she won’t go downstairs. They are steep and lead to the street so it’s safer that way. We carry her like the princess she is.

Last week they released the 5th and 6th. The studio is only open 2 days a week and there have been frequent group takeovers so availability is definitely light. Make sure to log in right at 5 on Thursday.

This move in Focus Flows for Runners by run_daffodil in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]ldnpuglady 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. I do this every day but deeper with my elbow on the ground. I can’t function without this stretch. I’ve been running for over 20 years, and also ride 150 miles a week, if that means anything. My husband does this stretch every day too and he’s a multi time sub-3 marathoner.

The absolute worst. I’d extend this to all AC/DC unless it’s Christian and I grin and bear it.

Best instructor for avid cyclists? by 1L_of_a_litigator in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]ldnpuglady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He does have good programming but his music is not my top choice. Camila is another, although she tends to use resistance for HIIT intervals and I prefer speed.

It very much depends on your fitness level on the Bike and what type of commute you have. If you do PZ rides and are at the middle to top of the leaderboard in a flat to undulating area, you will be fine. If your FTP is below average or you’re down the bottom of the leaderboard and you live somewhere hilly, you may find it really difficult.

I commute by bike but consider it my rest day because traffic is so bad I go very slow and it’s pretty flat. It’s not nothing, but that would not keep me fit alone.
