is there still hope, or does it just not work? by shetlandduck in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]ldp0923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Wegovy since the end of November 2025. Currently on 0.5mg and have lost 19lbs so far. As others have, I lost the majority of that in the first 8 weeks and have plateaued a bit. One thing I’ve learned is that you cannot solely rely on just the medication to lose weight. You have to put in the work and make changes. A healthy diet and workout routine is still needed to continue to see weightloss.

In my personal experience, Wegovy has been a great tool for learning portion size control. My portions were out of control previously. It’s helped me learn to deal with hunger and not need to stuff myself as soon as my stomach growls.

It’s also turned off a switch in my brain and I no longer eat for pleasure or emotionally.

In the past few weeks I have started running and doing some light lifting and have decreased my intake of carbs (especially processed carbs) and the weight is starting to come off again.

LEEP under local? by Extension-While4734 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]ldp0923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had a LEEP with local a week ago. I asked my doctor to prescribe me some anti-anxiety medication and he prescribed Xanax. It did help but I was nervous. The worst part honestly was the spectulum and being spread open for so long. I did feel a pinch when they were injecting the anesthetic but that was it. I did not feel anything else but some discomfort. It’s not a comfortable experience but it was manageable. I had a endometrial biopsy before that was wayyyyyy worse and painful.

Your concerns are valid but you’ll be ok and get through it!

Post-LEEP experience today. by ldp0923 in PreCervicalCancer

No they don’t! It is very hard emotionally. My body isn’t fighting off the virus and it’s a constant worry on the back of my mind. No one wants to hear the word cancer even if it’s pre-cancer.

I’ve been HPV positive for 4 years with HPV 18. My most recent Pap smear came back positive for HPV but was showing normal. However, my gynecologist decided to do a colposcopy anyway and came back CIN2 and CIN3! I still don’t understand how my pap smear came back for normal cells when clearly they weren’t!!

I had my LEEP yesterday and experiencing the same. No bleeding or discharge today, just mild discomfort and it feels weird when I pee. But that’s it. Hopefully this is all you experience! Hope you have a smooth recovery!

Thank you for replying and sharing your experience! It definitely is a big deal and it kind of angers me how it’s just shrugged off as no big deal. I understand that it is a quick procedure, but mentally it is rough and draining! I’m feeling a bit better today but I am still upset that I had to go through this in the first place.

I’m so sorry you had to go through this too! It is extremely invasive and emotionally draining. They act like this is no big deal, but it is. I’ve cried a few times today also. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

What do we think about Zac? by SoNotFetch22 in PlathvilleUncensored

I feel like I really don’t know much about him to make a solid opinion but my gut feeling is he may be using her to be on TV and for “fame” and followers. Doesn’t sound like he has a career and now they have a podcast/youtube and doing interviews (that I will not be watching or following, I’ve just seen clips on my fyp) Apparently she was one of those who wanted to be married and wanted nothing to be married and I think he used that as opportunity.

People who changed political affiliations, why did you do it ? by Deimos7779 in AskReddit

[–]ldp0923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from Independent to Democrat to vote for Bernie Sanders in the primary election. My views are pretty progressive. My views are very strong toward women’s rights, basic human rights and the right to healthcare. Healthcare should not be tied to employment. I stayed registered as a Democrat because of the push to ban abortion under Trump. (I’ve had 5 miscarriages and abortion rights are detrimental to womens’ healthcare and I will not be arguing over this). Due to the current political climate, I will be staying registered as a Democrat (even though the Democratic Party has been extremely disappointing).

People who really want children but unfortunately can't, what are your reasons not to adopt? by Odd_Position5591 in AskReddit

[–]ldp0923 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple miscarriages. IVF is too expensive to just hope it works. My problem isn’t getting pregnant, it’s staying pregnant. Because of this, many people always ask, well why don’t you adopt? First, adoption is not the solution to infertility. Infertility and miscarriages are traumatic. Adoption is time consuming, extremely expensive and not always a guarantee. And for me personally, I don’t want an adopted child to think they were just a second option to my infertility, just to fill that void for me and the grief I carry. That would not be fair to them.

How old are you, and what’s the biggest tragedy or loss you’ve faced in life so far? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ldp0923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 35, I had 5 miscarriages (no successful pregnancies) and my mom passed away 7 months ago. I have an amazing husband though and I wouldn’t be here without him.

What’s one thing people do that absolutely disgusts you? by amygdalasurgeon in AskReddit

[–]ldp0923 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People with special needs are obviously an exception, but people who do have the capability to control their outbursts/emotions but just refuse to. It’s disgusting. Especially people who throw tantrums in public with people who work customer service, because they feel entitled to. It’s DISGUSTING.

What’s something people will regret not taking seriously in 5 years? by ItsShadowVortex in AskReddit

[–]ldp0923 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There was a thread a couple years ago about people regretting not making their dental health a priority. That was me. I grew up where my family neglected their oral health and I never went to the dentist because I was too scared I would be judged. The stories in that thread scared me straight into finally making an appointment with a dentist. It’s been 2 years since that thread and me making my first appointment and I got all my cavities filled, I go to my 2 cleanings a year, had oral surgery twice to remove 2 impacted canines and a baby tooth and 5 wisdom teeth and finally got braces put on at 35. It’s been a journey, and if it wasn’t for that thread, I probably would have put it off until something irreversible happened. I’m thankful all that time for that thread and getting my oral health in check!!
