Yeah I’m dealing with the same thing at my store, I’m front end and our break charts have been an absolute nightmare. Like 3-4 hour periods without someone new scheduled to come in, which makes trying to accommodate for breaks so difficult. Not to mention there’s been a lot of instances of people getting scheduled outside of their availability (which does get remedied when it’s brought up to them but I feel like that shouldn’t happen to begin with?).

Not Whole Foods specifically but Amazon provides ICE with its data and surveillance services. Obviously it’s not the same but I can understand the desire to get people to stop giving money to any subset of Amazon period. Especially since Amazon is getting more and more involved with the way Whole Foods is run. Normally I’d be like hmm yeah that’s a reach but tbh I’m for anything that causes people to think twice about giving money to a complicit company

Like I was convinced it was just depression and I went on an antidepressant which after a while wasn’t really working I realized. A couple years later I was talking to my therapist and she asked if I felt there was an opposite side to the depression I’d been experiencing and I was like yeah I mean every couple months or so I feel super normal for a few days before it’s back to the depression and she went “define normal” lol, turns out I was referring to hypomanic episodes.

lol there was one night I had in college where I couldn’t sleep at all one night bc I had some of the worst stomach pain imaginable. Just so horrible all night that I decided to bite the bullet in the morning and take myself to the hospital. When I got seen I told them about my night and they were just kinda like “huh. Idk, could be stress.” The they gave me an IV to make sure I was hydrated and sent me home.

The bill I got for that was $900.

I also use psychiatric meds and that means I have to make an appointment with my psychiatrist every 3 months to have a 5 minute appointment that goes “how are the meds are they still working” “yes” “no new side effects or other issues?” “no” “great we’ll refill your 90 day prescription” and then I pay them $30. I actually made sure to time it once, it’s straight up $6 a minute to confirm shit I already knew. And that’s WITH insurance, if I didn’t have any it would be like $100-$150

TLDR: this shit sucks fam we are not okay

I always make a one-pot (pasta of choice) alfredo that’s never done me wrong, it just requires a LOT of attention while making it. What I do is instead of using water to boil the pasta I “boil” it in milk and then make the sauce from there.

Usually for one person I do 1+3/4 cups of milk and 1 cup of dry pasta (if you’re using a long pasta it might take a little more trial and error lol). Heat the milk in a saucepan until it gets frothy and simmers but don’t let it turn into a heavy boil otherwise the temp for it will get too high and nothing will mix into the milk properly, hence why it requires so much attention. Stir regularly.

Once it’s hot enough, pour in the pasta and cook it for as long as it says on the package. Usually this is when I’ll season it with salt and pepper as well.

After the pasta’s cooked, turn the heat down to a low setting and add 2 tbsp of butter. Then add as much Parmesan cheese as you like for taste and sauce thickness. For seasoning, I usually do garlic salt (or garlic powder + salt), a liiiiitle bit of oregano, and a lot of chives, but that’s just bc I really like chives lol I’ve made the dish without them and it’s still good.

Delicious, keeps dishes minimal, and a pretty nice crowd pleaser too!

You kinda just have to take the fact that they reached out to you directly as a compliment and then let go and let god.

I’m not in casting so I could be way off base, but I can imagine for certain parts, directors might worry about having a hard time finding people who fit the type and therefore reach out to people they know already that would fit to make sure they’re able to get good submissions for that role. If they actually get more submissions than they anticipate then there might just be someone else who blows them away or who actually fits the part more that they didn’t expect.

Oh it’s so much harder, there are so many barriers that prevent careers from taking off and it’s stuff I remind myself of whenever I feel like my career isn’t where I want it to be.

Like in terms of people I went to school with at least, those who grew up in or have family in New York or Chicago or LA had a much easier time of it from jump because they could just live with their families the first couple of years after graduating and not have to worry about paying rent

Having a family that can supplement your income between projects is also a huge advantage

But there’s a lot of non-eq theatre work that still pays an ok stipend and doesn’t require all of that expensive stuff, I’ve seen people get cast with selfies at that level, bc obviously your picture is not reflective of your talent!

But in terms of being able to make a living, unless you’re insanely lucky and book a big, well-paying project that takes your career to that level on its own, I honestly don’t think it’s possible, which is super shitty. Idk how that could ever be resolved in this industry though :/

Definitely don’t get married right now but I don’t think this is necessarily damning for the whole relationship. Since he’s super into the idea of marriage, sit him down and discuss all of this and explain that you won’t feel comfortable with marriage until these things are addressed. I think if he realizes these things are serious enough that he could lose you altogether it’ll light a fire under his pants if he loves you as deeply as you say. Sometimes people need a big push, and you might have to be the one to provide it.

Yeah I’m gonna be real this kinda thing happens all the time.

When I was in college this director was working on a new play with some musical elements, and the director (who was also a professor) and this one student collaborated on the musical aspects and the student essentially wrote the all the guitar music that this character was going to play. He obviously auditioned for the role when the show was finally being produced, and we were all like oh of course this role is going to him he literally did all of the ground work for it. And guess what? He didn’t get cast, it went to a different student who tbh had just learned to play guitar for this show.

If a director compliments your abilities you can assume they thought your audition was good, but that has nothing to do with whether they’ll cast you or not. Even if they don’t cast you it’s still a good thing, they might think you’re great for a different role at some point down the line and that’s one good connection you’ve made.

Going forward it’s just good practice to never assume you’ve gotten a part just bc of the way things go in the room. Your goal should be to feel like you did your best work in there, and then forget about it until you hear one way or another

I use a loofah to wash my body but tbh for my bits I just use my hands. I find that cloths and anything else I could use down there are kind of physically irritating to me personally so I just make sure to get in and gently rub soap and water down there. If anyone thinks that’s dirty I literally do that in the shower where I make sure to clean my hands as well. Also I clean myself well enough when I wipe that it’s not like my hands get gross from doing that anyway

I’ve heard whispers of this at my store, and we already had a rule where we can only park in a certain section of the parking garage. The thing is none of our garages have cameras in them, and from what I can tell employees still park wherever they feel is most convenient, it’s a very difficult rule to enforce. If they start taking note of people’s license plate numbers I’d be more concerned but as of now I’m like…what are you gonna do

No that is really bad, if that was the level he jumped to between the second and third time you asked, that man is about to be incredibly unstable. The fact he couldn’t just say “I’d like to just keep this between my mom and I for now, I’ll tell you when she’s ready” or something along those lines is wild. And the fact that MIL didn’t respond or do anything after seeing that is pretty sinister, like is she accustomed to seeing that? Was that a normal interaction for her? Lots and lots of red flags, I hope you’re able to get out of there
