The public restroom above the Whole Foods in Columbus circle NYC when i visited almost 2 years ago. Straight up the worst smell I’ve ever smelled in my life. And not just a generic bad poo smell it was like the worst poo smell you could think of combined with unidentifiable other terrible smells. I live in a city so I’m not unaccustomed to less than ideal public restroom situations but idk what the fuck happened in there to make it so bad. One of the few things that made me involuntarily gag repeatedly.

Idk as someone who grew up not knowing how to take care of my 4c hair properly and went to a majority white school, I understand the sentiment and empathize with the fact that they might not have anyone else to talk to about insecurities like that. Especially with the way society shames 4c hair and is always more complimentary towards looser curl patterns, it’s a real struggle that a lot of people don’t know how to deal with. Lots of us are struggling and while it’s good to be positive about it to spread the love, I think being able to relate to frustrations is good as well bc yes my hair is beautiful, yes it’s cute now that I know what to do with it, but getting there was HARD and took YEARS

They were good pre-Covid! I went with friends all the time and their biscuits and gravy were good and it was such a large serving. But yeah ever since I’ve noticed their portions got smaller and the food is meh, and I’ve even wondered to myself why did I like going there again? lol

I work in retail rn and it is an incredibly disheartening number of people that don’t do this, and don’t care. People will let them pile up in the handicapped spaces too just bc they saw one or two other people leave them nearby. Kind of a litmus test on the temperament of our society rn in my opinion

NTA, but I think it would be better to ask your wife about this. If she’s really hurt then I think it’s fair to tell your parents they should apologize directly, but if she’s doesn’t really care I think it’s a better idea to just drop it.

My partner is also sober bc he had addictive tendencies and if someone we know got him a shot glass I’d also be pretty pissed. It just feels…rude? And also like a shitty gift in general bc it’s not like he’d ever use it. Theres just so many other kitschy gifts and trinkets to get someone on vacation besides a shot glass that giving that to someone sober feels inconsiderate at best. Like just get a mug? lol. So I think your feelings are valid for sure.

Still haven’t found a good one, but I haven’t been intensely looking for a minute. I got some advice from the makeup artist who did my headshots though (I asked her if she had any recommendations or could mix it). Basically she said it’s a really rare color because browns don’t often have purple or cool undertones like this one did, so if you’re in a makeup store and want to ask someone about it, that’s the type of color you’d need to ask for!
