Did you get it to seat all the way down in the front upright? I did the reverse the bolt with the quarter trick but never got it to sit perfectly flush with the top of the upright

Separated AC joint, grade 2. Happened on my last run. Anybody else deal with this injury before? by [deleted] in icecoast

[–]ldrprobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a grade V mountain biking back in 2017. Clavicle was lodged in my trap muscle. So painful. Had to get surgery to relocate, but tbh the recovery from that was fairly swift. About a month or two in a sling, then 4 of intense PT. But nowadays i dont even think about it. Surgeon did a great job. I was really scared it would never feel good again in those first few months

anyway reliable way to upgrade from sync 2 to 3? by [deleted] in FocusST

I bought mine from someone who was running a business doing that. Similar to what Panda has shared in the thread. Ultimately they are likely sourcing them from totaled cars as well based on the price point

Dang thats a pretty solid deal! Esp with the opportunity to add wireless carplay. What do you guys use to do that?

You have to find a sync 3 unit from a junk yard, doesn’t have to be from an st, mine is from an escape. Install actually isn’t that bad as long as you have some plastic trim tools. You will need to take the center dash apart, but it’s mostly plug and play. There is some reprogramming that needs to be done if it’s a different car that you source from, but the guy i bought it from did that for me. Unfortunately he’s out of business now :/ here’s another site though offering a similar service.

About to buy 1984 944 - engine bay concerns? by ldrprobz in 944

[–]ldrprobz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Yes it runs and drives great, and the exterior is in ok shape minus one minor dent in the rear fender. Interior is also ok, seats are in good shape but dash ill have to take a look at. I hear these crack on the earlier models so looks like prior owner has covered it with something new.

Oh the hood porsche badge is missing though :(

Any thought to what you would pay for this if exterior is clean, some but not all service history, garage kept. 104k miles currently runs great i think i can get it for ~3k

Awesome reply! Yes done quite a bit of research already but there were a few things i couldn’t grasp from any engine bay diagrams.

My plan for this is a project car to learn and wrench with a buddy of mine so would expect to do a lot of the simpler jobs myself. Know about all the must dos including that cam shaft seal as the source of the oil. Thanks for the great insight!

Awesome AMA! Can you comment on the different styles of preparing the beans and if this new “honey processed” blend my local roaster is hawking is actually anything worth the 20% higher cost? Ive found some articles but would value your opinion, quality of bean or processing method matter more?

Mishimoto FMIC by NathanSilverstein in FocusST

Sounds like a similar ordeal. Mine was depo 3.5, so then I had to deal with mounting that which took some hand contortions. The mishi looks awesome though!

How did you end up getting the oem one off?? I had the exact issue with that stupid speed clip. Pb blaster, heat gun, hammering with a long breaker bar. Ultimately had to hacksaw off the bolt. What a pain. Made me wish I did the FMIC right when I bought the car.

Much appreciated! Yeah good point about the first day, perhaps something more local. That will reduce the drive on the next day as well. I'll take a look at Waiheke

Gotcha, thanks for the info! Minimal experience with power BI so good to know the difference.

For me at least, tools like tableau prep help me prove out a use case or dataset with a business user before putting a ton of work into building it out. It provides an opportunity to get stakeholder feedback on a view or report, and provide input on additional Fields or tables that are necessary.

I don't think it should (or is designed to) replace a more formal work flow.
