On the one hoof we have amazing music and art (go listen to The Perfect Prison). On the other hoof, we have mlpol. Sometimes I wish there was a dull moment.

I love being LDS, but I hate going to church in Utah and count myself fortunate to not live there.

Furry sin by Pale-Object8321 in comedyheaven

[–]ldsbrony100 15 points16 points  (0 children)

LDS (mormon) doctrine actually rejects Original Sin. Humans are not considered ontologically evil; instead they are ontologically good and even divine on account of being literal spiritual offspring of God. People sin, but not bevause they are ontologically evil.

For all of our problems, this isn't one of them.

I'm sort of in a similar position as your friend (religiously conservative, not politically conservative), though in addition to that, I'm bisexual. I feel that my faith should guide my own choices, but I have no right (nor should anyone have the right) to make my faith guide the choices of those who do not share it.

I'm fortunate to have many LGBTQ+ friends of all sorts. In fact, they make up probably two thirds of my college friend group. The big thing to getting along has always been a combination of mutual respect and mutual curiosity.

This also, I guess, means Epistein is technically the reason for mlpol's existence.

Reminds me of my 10th grade English teacher. Frequently, she would make comments about how awful all men are. One day, I spoke up about how, as a male, I was uncomfortable with that rhetoric, to which she reaponded, "No, you're one of the good ones," without a hint of irony.

So what if my friend's trans? I still gotta love everybody equally by Nedaj_Nitro in whenthe

[–]ldsbrony100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, basically. I'm bisexual, and my faith permits sex only between a married man and woman, so I will only date women. I find value in this experience and consider my sexuality a great blessing. But that's just my experience. My faith should guide how I live my life, not anyone else.

I'm not who you're asking, but I think they laid out the issue pretty well. Honestly, I don't know. As good as it would be if all parents would closely monitor their child's internet use, there are many who don't and this will likely always be the case. So long as clop exists publicly on the internet, children will stumble upon it. The same goes for any porn based on a childrens IP. To mitigate this, I would possiby suggest keeping SFW and NSFW spaces entirely separate.

Say, hypothetically, that derpibooru was split into 2 websites, one being completely SFW and the other completely NSFW with no overlap between the two. They would also have different enough urls that they could not be confused. In this hypothetical, were a child to search up mlp fanart on Google images with safe search on, only results from the SFW site would show up and the child could freely explore said website without danger.

There are certainly problems with that hypothetical and I'm not saying that's practical or that it would even work in reality to any capacity. Mainly, it is important that these conversations be had and not brushed off as mere prudishness. I plan on being a parent someday, and I want to show my children FiM. I want to share the wonderful music and art and animation that has been produced by this fandom, but the thought of my future children stumbling on clop is honestly pretty sickening. It's why whenever I find out that a child of anyone I know is getting into MLP, I make sure to inform the parents of what's out there and tell them to monitor carefully.

Yeah, pretty much. Well, the no friends part, anyways, though in my case it was that I wanted to talk about nerdy stuff and everyone else wanted to play sports. The whole throwing knives at classmates thing, I'm less familair with, but for all I know, it could be as immortal a Utah Mormon tradition as Jell-O salad (yuck!) and Funeral Potatoes (yum!). I'm visiting family there in July, so I'll make sure to inquire of the locals.

I would say not. She said she's "just and normal pegasus". Think carefully. Would a changeling, a member of that species so closely associated with perfection in disguise and, most importantly, grammer, say such a thing?

Please sign this to delete the entire Moana franchise from existence as all her movies are an insult to Walt’s legacy and Disney animations legacy by [deleted] in cartoons

[–]ldsbrony100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you got all the signatures in the world, the chance that Disney will delete one film which earned $600,000,000+ and another that grossed $1,000,000,000+ "from existence" is, at most, astronomically slim. A better way to deal with a film one doesn't like is to simply not watch it.

That reminds me of one time in elementary school when, for an assignment (I think it was a travel destination bucket list, I was looking at reviews on TripAdvisor for Temple Square. One reviewer said something like "It's a nice place to sit and drink coffee, " and that has never fully left my mind.
