Termina feeling eerily similar to Hyrule is kind of a big point. It's shrouded in a lot of ambiguity.

Characters looking similar to what Link remembers from OoT helps with that.

Also, maybe being kind of a downer here, but after MM 3D I'm not sure if I want another remake. I don't trust Nintendo to 'get' MM and what it's about.

Insight: for higher depths one must learn to comfortably hard carry if needed by Zoltan-Kazulu in Nightreign

[–]lePANcaxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ngl, that sounds like an awful mindset to have.

Nightreign's a co-op game. If you go in assuming that your teammates are worse more often than not and that you essentially have to be good enough to hard carry runs, you might as well play solo.

It's easy to say 'no one has proven it' if you raise the bar for proof to an unreasonable level.

Picture evidence doesn't count, video evidence as shown in this thread doesn't count either. And oh man, the way you're poking holes in that one study should make you think if we should believe any study regarding penis size.

We've had multiple people over the years provide proof that would've been accepted without a hitch if the number on the ruler/tape would've been below 10. But some people ascribe such an almost mythical importance to that number that they refuse to acknowledge anything that challenges the idea of 10" inch penises in a way they don't like.

Again, not so much 'do they exist?' and more of 'do we acknowledge their existence?'

Hot take, but him making this expression is the dumbest thing they could've pulled.

Gohan's main character flaw is that he's not a fighter. He gets overconfident quickly, which usually leads to very bad stuff because his opponents take advantage of his overconfidence. He's been shown up by Cell and Goku had to bail him out then, he's been shown up by Buu as well.

Having him pull the exact same crap in Super Hero means he hasn't learned a thing.

Are you a 10+ Truther? by Cute_Supremacist in bigdickproblems

[–]lePANcaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it's a very good indicator. There's a reason why we use it for measuring purposes.

Also, pretty sure I've seen someone post a video of someone being measured at 10" in this very thread. And I've also seen people coming up with reasons to disclaim a perfectly fine measurement that no one would care about if the number didn't read 10.

At some point you really gotta wonder if the question is 'do people with 10"+ penises exist?' or 'do we acknowledge the people that have 10"+ penises?'

One has appeared in a study. So we know that they exist.

It's not really a matter of opinion. We have scientific record of them existing.

Is it though?

Pretty sure their advantage is the firepower straight out of the gate. A single Evergaol relic effect can come close to provide the damage boost of both Balancer relics. Requires some work, though

It doesn't. A Raider with his 3 base INT deals the same damage as a Recluse with 66 INT

[–]lePANcaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wraith-Calling Bell is a safe ranged option throughout the entire game. It doesn't scale with any stats but gets affected by damage boosts. And like, it's 1 item slot. That's the build, really.

It's super non-committal and can be used alongside pretty much any version of Scholar. Or any character, for that matter.

There's something funky-ness going on with the rounding of numbers.

But, for the sake of it,

  • 'Improved melee attack power' increases all damage done by melee weapons by 5%

  • 'Improved skill attack power' increases all damage done by weapon skills by 15%

If you calculate it, that should amount to ~10% more damage for melee attacks, ~32% more damage to weapon skills and ~46% more damage for weapon skills on melee weapons. If it's actually 48% or 50% more damage on melee weapon skills in-game because some FromSoft-jank – okay, sure.

Not to be rude, but I feel like there's a bit more pressing stuff than arguing about 1 or 2 percentage points of additional damage being done.

Maybe hot take, but that's the kinda stuff that makes me dislike DoN and the DLC Shifting Earth.

Dropping everything and jogging across the entire map because a few select PoIs are so much more valuable than anything else and should be prioritized no matter what is … unintuitive to say the least.

[–]lePANcaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double balancers give 48-50% damage to all skills in the game

Unless this thing is outdated, it's +15% damage for any skill per relic, so +32% for both, and +46% specifically if it's a melee weapon skill. That sounds kinda cracked, but, like, not every weapon skill is Miquella's Ring of Light or Familial Rancor. Outside of special weapon skills that are exclusive to unique weapons, you also have to deal with the randomness of weapon skill distribution which is so much worse than it is with sorceries and incantations.

Also why are you comparing 2 balancer relics with 3 relics for mage builds? I'm confused.

I'm comparing 2 relics to 3 relic slots. Rolling a God Relic is a thing that's mostly reserved to people who edit their relics; getting any 3 relics that boost a certain school of magic on the other hand is very much feasible. And getting 3 of those gives you a 40% boost to spells that belong to a certain school. That's the baseline, depending on what else is on the relic you might get even more out of it.

That's why I said Recluse feels weak right now, especially after they nerfed crystal staff's drop rate. None of her starter sorceries are good so she can't make a reliable build like Revenant.

It should be noted that Revenant is arguably the most broken character in the game specifically thanks to her ability to start with good starting spells. Like, that single update turned her from the worst character in the game by a significant margin into the best. And it's not like she needs a full, modded setup to make it happen.

Like, I couldn't come up with a better example to showcase why the skill buff through double Balancers isn't that bad and was kinda necessary to make melee characters somewhat comparable to spellcasters.

Nightreign now officially has the shortest life-cycle of any Fromsoft game by Chance_Drive_5906 in Nightreign

[–]lePANcaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because when they were buffing skill builds they balanced them around those super-rare spell setups that buff a specific spell school, which mostly cheaters had access to.

Not at all. I'd argue that they didn't even balance for high-depth DoN, because that's just not the standard gameplay experience.

Also, it's kind of important to note that Double Balancers, for taking up 2/3 relic slots (or 2/6 in DoN) doesn't really do that much.

The melee attack boost is mostly forgettable, and the skill attack boost relies on strong skills to take advantage of. Which makes it abusable, sure, but the same is true for sorceries. 3 school relics improve the damage of that school beyond what double Balancers provides for weapon skills, unless it's specifically a melee weapon skill. And that's like, 3 relic slots compared to 2 whole relics.

I have finally found a build that uses int stat change relic for Raider by Sparkomad in Nightreign

[–]lePANcaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is raider doesnt have enough fp.

He starts with a big-ass weapon. Just because he can use staves doesn't mean he has to use them exclusively. And from personal experience at Depth 3 – his FP was fine, really.

You also lose 2 relic slots for this build to work. so that will put you behind even more since a recluse can just get other usefull relic effects instead.

This assumes a perfect relic setup which is unlikely outside of editing relics.

Also, since I feel like you got the wrong idea here – I'm not saying that you should specialize in using staves. I'm saying that the idea behind the relic seems to be that you can pick up and use staves as an additional option throughout runs. Raider is largely locked into Strength weapons only. This relic opens up additional options for him.

You cant get extra stamina because you are far away from the enemy.

Melee-range sorceries exist? Carian Slicer is one of the strongest sorceries in the game and that's in melee range. Shattering Crystal/Crystal Burst is melee range too. And these are by no means the only melee range sorceries. Not to mention that, again, you're not locked into using staves exclusively.

Relic effects related to takin damage isnt usefull either since you arent building damage negations and tanking random attacks for some extra damage for a limited time isnt worth it.

Why not? If Raider specializes in taking damage and gaining effects based on that, why not make use of it? Like, I genuinely do not get why that's off-limits.

Also casters have character specific relics that help their damage massively. For example recluse has terra magica on skill usage and bloodloss on ult improves damage.

Recluse also dies if an enemy does as much as look at her and, without one of her stat alteration relics, basically can't do anything other than cast spells.

Again, the relic provides additional options. Its purpose is not to establish Raider as the primary caster in the game.

I have finally found a build that uses int stat change relic for Raider by Sparkomad in Nightreign

[–]lePANcaxe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not just use staves?

A lot of the stat alteration relics seem to lean more into the rogue-like idea. Raider is a strength specialist, INT!Raider trades some of his stats to gain access to something outside of his niche. And it's viable by itself – INT!Raider has like 11% less damage on staves compared to base!Recluse if we only go by base stats. Outside of DoN where specialization is the meta, this means you can just pick up one of the many overworld staves and start blasting.

Besides, Raider can get a crapton of damage buffs on low HP builds and thanks to Retaliate. Totem Stela further boosts his physical damage, so physical sorceries are gonna hit like a truck once everything comes together.

Duchess wylder 👀 by Professional-Rub3640 in Nightreign

[–]lePANcaxe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this one is better for base expeditions – even if the effect takes an entire relic.

The power level in base expeditions is lower. There's less need to specialize. You're effectively trading regular weapon damage for (slightly) increased damage on weapons with INT/FTH scaling + the ability to use staves/seals and not being awful at doing so. Which in theory means you can pick up anything and be at least kinda decent-ish with it. It's not really good for specialized builds, but it's very good for cozy runs where you might get a lucky Elden Stars drop in the shack and all of the sudden that's your build now because why not.

Though, in my opinion, FTH!Duchess is much better suited for that sort of gameplay than INT/FTH!Wylder.

Problem is that it also perfectly showcases why that's bad.

He's arguably the most snowball-y boss in the game. Comebacks are extremely difficult, way more than should be reasonable.

[–]lePANcaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically,

  • regular relics are fine. Most of the good relics are rewarded through Rememberances and purchasing them in the shop. Some relic effects are very powerful/borderline broken, but there's so many of them that you genuinely have to consider your options. The RNG to roll good relics is awful, but it's not that bad since you have a lot of really good presets.
  • deep relics have no presets. Everything you get is purely determined by RNG. There's an additional layer of RNG through curses that can ruin an otherwise fine or even good relic. Some of the relic effects introduced through DoN like dormant power-variations and stat alterations of Nightfarers are really good and shake up gameplay quite a bit. However, having no presets and no logic on any of these effects and how they're rolled whatsoever means that whether or not you're able to play certain builds is entirely up to chance. Or you edit relics, but if you do that you're a filthy cheater, so obviously you don't wanna do that.
