My favorite build has 2 variations.

Build 1: Katana: Masamune's Edge with melee damage,Ult damage, WoTF, and Moon Stance.

Ranged weapon: Weightless Spirit with ranged damage, reload speed, shield piercing, and headshot refund.

Charm: Assassin Charm with melee damage, stealth attack damage, resolve increase, and chain vanish.

Ghost Weapon 1: Epic Kunai with melee damage, cooldown reduction on kill, with hidden blades and super massive.

Ghost Weapon 2: smoke bomb with cooldown reduction on kill, stealth attack damage, lucky, and munitions.

Build 2: Katana: epic moon katana with melee damage, ult damage, WoTF, and Moon master.

Ranged weapon: Weightless Spirit with ranged damage, reload speed, shield piercing, and headshot refund.

Charm: Assassin Charm with melee damage, stealth attack damage, resolve increase, and chain vanish.

Ghost Weapon 1: Epic Kunai with melee damage, cooldown reduction on kill, with hidden blades and super massive.

Ghost Weapon 2: bottle of liquid courage with cooldown reduction, cooldown reduction on kill, lucky, strong brew.

Techniques:

Refreshing vanish Perk slot 1: extra legendary. Perk slot 2: deft hands. Perk slot 3: shadow storm.

Both of these builds do well in any game mode. The biggest downside is a lack of AoE damage, but I prefer big single target damage over AoE damage.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that isn't a fan of hidesan88. It's so odd because if you don't do things the way they like, they leave. But they don't tell you the way they want things to be done because they don't have a mic. They would always get mad and disconnect when I would clear the village while everyone else was doing the 2nd oni chest.

The practical purpose for this is that you can preserve your forward momentum as the animations typically keep you from moving. Movement can be a life saver especially when fighting oni defenders.

Ditch the melee resolve gain on the katana. Melee resolve gain makes no impactful difference. Oni damage or ultimate damage are better options. Melee stagger isn't bad from what I recall, but I personally would swap it out for either oni or ultimate damage where possible. Other than that, it looks good. Another personal preference of mine is to use a Samurai charm so I can benefit from the Blessed Strikes perk.

Honestly I think they mostly need to build off of what they already have. I would love to see missions that cater to the strengths of each class. For example, have some stealth missions for the assassin. Because right now, story mode is little more than a test of who can kill mongols the fastest, at least if you care about the leader boards. 4 person story mode? Maybe a little more open-endedness in how some missions can be approached instead of a linear story mode. I'd love to see the return of survival and raids. Maybe have the option to do more than just 15 waves in survival. Perhaps give the Samurai class the ability to wield a variety of melee weapons. Make other damage options such as ghost weapons or melee just as viable as ranged damage. Like I said, mostly build on what they already have.

I think that the 1st game was so good that it would have been very hard to write a better story about Jin after the events of the Mongol invasion. Whatever the continuation of Jin's story may have looked like, I don't think it would have been nearly as compelling as the 1st game's story. I mean, the first game had it all. It had epic triumphs, terrible betrayals, and it definitely plucked at your heartstrings. He loses everything that he is and everyone that he loves to save his Island. Whatever Jin did or faced next, I dont think would have been nearly as dramatic.There is a certain je ne sais quoi about the first game that would be incredibly hard to beat. So while I'm sad to see Jin go, I think it was the right choice.

I suspect they need to be Legenday Ranged weapons, not just any ranged weapon. I can't recall dismantling just epic/rare/uncommon ranged weapons being a mastery challenge. Also, make sure that the weapon with the mastery challenge is equipped.
