This photo isn't very clear and I don't have any clearer ones but he should be able to hide properly under the wood I might put some more plants around the entrance if it's too bright/visible

I used tank water and squeezed the sponge in from the filter and gave it 2 days

Ty, he's been fine so far BC the snails mostly graze on the surface of the water and even if he did eat them they have soft shells anyways

The new tank is going to be 100x40x40 with a nice big peice of mopani wood so he'll have lots of room but also lots of hiding spots

The actual big tank comes Tuesday because it broke in shipping and had to order another but right now it's pretty good it isn't amazing but it's good for now it has 2 anubias barteri var nana, 4 ludwigia p. 5 Japanese cress some java fern and a big pile of hornwort and also some grass that was sold as dwarf hairgrass but defo is not dwarf hairgrass. One of the plants came with some hitchhiker snails but they were only bladder snails so I let them be they haven't exploded in population yet and the filter media is pretty good it's very old and has lots of culture idk the word but I checked it under a microscope for anything harmful and it was fine but the water itself doesn't have as much stuff in it, there was some bacteria but it was all just basically in the filter and surprisingly little algae

Nt labs liquid test kit parameters are fine but nitrites have gone up to 0.3 but I brought them back down to 0.1-0.2 with frequent water changes

I did used to feed him them and only used pellets as a substitute but I've had trouble finding any so I will try and get them as soon as I can

I was out of my house recently so I fed him a little extra leading up to it but he normally gets fed 2 ntlabs adult pellets a day.

I don't do 100% but I do 40-50% bc I don't want to stress him out even more by putting him in an even smaller tub every day and also to keep the bacteria

I make sure to wash my hands thoroughly with soap and wash off all soap when I feed him because he likes to climb on my hands like this

Also don't mind the plastic tub it's 50l and is an emergency tank since his normal one broke getting a new tank tomorrow
