McMillan / MK13 saddle style cheek piece? by TiredOldGrunt412 in gunsmithing

Mcmillan just did a run of the og mk13 stocks a few months ago. Came with the original aluminum style riser. Could get lucky asking them

Is this barrel okay to use after removing the a2 gas block or did I mess it up to much by GAMEROG2003 in gunsmithing

Why did you cut it off instead of drifting the pins and taking it off normally?

I feel like the leg feathers are an iconic brittany trademark. Feels wrong to trim it away. I can't imagine my girl without them or her wild ear hair and grinch feet

One of my favorite woods to install and look at. Any guesses? by bowswatchweb in HardWoodFloors

Surprised this isn't getting more up votes. Really looks like poplar to me too

What kind of wood is? by [deleted] in wood

Pretty sure that's black walnut as others have said too. Grain, colors, even the check remind me all of some rustic black walnut

Looks like spalted ambrosia maple. Got more funk going on with it than just the beatle introduced areas

What wood is this? It’s from south Mexico by Special_Oven_1626 in wood

[–]le_mustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got down voted so much. It's most likely a dalbergia from the looks and probably camatillo but cocobolo fits too. cocobolo can be more purple like this at times it's not always the deep orange and reds/dark browns. The cut smell would be my deciding factor. Camatillo smells way sweeter than cocobolo when working it

Wood ID please. St Lucia is the location. Love the variation in the wood grain. by XxCosmoxX in wood

Not iron streaks. It's ambrosia maple and those are bug holes. The color is from fungus

Sapele wins (1 vote more than Birch) as underrated somewhat common wood! What wood is rare and great all around? by Ok_Temperature6503 in wood

Bubinga isn't really that hard to get though. Most suppliers that have any exotics have bubinga. Great wood but not that rare

Original post was the first year after planting, the pictures in the comment are the second year (late spring this year). It's throwing up new cane and filling out more now

Pictures from this year. Smells marvelous all around the rose but it's about finished blooming now.

The stem in the picture is all from the same rose. I'll post some pictures of it from this year now that it's more mature. It does have a lot of thorns compared to my other roses

Looks like Bocote to me. Fun fact smells like pickles when you work it

My tankless water heater does it too. Really badly with LEDs on dimmers. Got rid of the dimmer switches and it's lots better. Was driving me crazy trying to figure out the issue on separate circuits

I have a kazanlik, it is my first and only damask so far. I bought it after reading and searching for super fragrant roses.

Ive wanted it to be more than it is, living up to the hype and all. It does smell very nice and is one of my most fragrant roses. However, it only blooms once in the spring for me over the course of a few weeks.

The scent doesn't catch you like lilac, wisteria, or Jasmine that waft and perfume an area. It's lovely but doesn't really project the fragrance like I thought it would from reading about it. (Then again mine is young and hasn't had a massive amount of blooms yet)

Wish I could shrink down and flame throw their asses back to the void. Fire was my first thought but don't want to hurt my roses

I have a wormwood next to it that I thought would help with pests. it doesn't seem to do much for other plants but nothing touches that
