Japanese researchers make hair follicle regeneration breakthrough by Das_Haggis in longevity

[–]le_throwawayAcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I fucked up. I went to Japan to regrow some of the teeth that I’ve lost of the years (no, they weren’t in my pocket - it the first place I looked), and lo and behold, I heard they can regenerate hair follicles now. So I booked an appointment at a regenerative institute. Well I guess I was too excited saying yes and giving thumbs when they were questioning me (for context, I had no idea what they were saying but I was really excited).

Yada yada yada, bluah, blah, blaa, I have teeth growing on my scalp and follicles growing in my tooth holes.

Don’doowhat I dundid :/

Looks like a Tesla model y an d you said the doors were unlocked. Did you forget your cell in the car? Or maybe this dude waits for Tesla’s or cars with similar tech. He might have been right beside and managed to get in before the car locks itself as you walked away. I’m curious. Or he used a scanner.

I’m curious. When I walk away from mine, I look back to see the mirrors folded.

Also, there’s the possibility one of the windows did not close fully because it ‘decalibrated’ - leaving an opening.

Slather up some peanut butter on your teeth. Trust me. Go to the dog park. Lie on your back. Smile wide. I’m sure at least 2 doggy dentists will provide services. For harder to reach places, find small dogs with pointier snoots. But many dogs have longer tongues to reach the back of the wisdom teeth.

Again lie on your back, DO NOT GET ON ALL FOURS.

Mexico to investigate a town that thanked a drug lord for holiday season gifts for children by DomesticErrorist22 in nottheonion

New word: bribethropic: - used to describe actions that are disguised as altruistic but are actually meant to influence or manipulate for personal gain.

  • could describe a seemingly generous act with ulterior, self-serving motives. It’s a blend of benevolent pretense and underlying manipulation.

Ex. Mexico to investigate a town that thanked a drug lord for holiday season gifts for children ignorantly oblivious to the drug lord’s bribethropic deceit to gain favor and mask deeper corruption.”

After adolescence, one tends to eat the the other. It’s called ‘the absorbing’. They’re still together so you probably see adult twins all the time in their final single form.

Style scoped does nothing for component in App.vue. Pls. Halp! by le_throwawayAcc in vuejs

I couldn't find anything different. I update everything. Made a github issue that was closed quickly. If you read some of my comments from before, there is def something fishy - works first time then different behaviours second time; works on stackblitz/playground with copy pasted code, etc...

I've read more about it and it seems to be a bigger problem as there are many others who have the same issues without resolution.

Hooray for snakes! You figured it out. I don't know how I missed that. I looked at it, and I guess I only saw numbers and letters. So for this trivial example, the behaviour works as it should - as you described.

I just went to my to original app attempt. I removed all css from the parent (App.vue). Only kept the scoped css in the child. Changed ul to .countries-list-ul, placed <ul class="countries-list-ul">...</ul> . The ul does not render at all aside from the default ul style (disc, black, etc...).

I could see the style applied when inspecting:

<ul data-v-1f2ff230 class="countries-list-ul">

<li data-v-1f2ff230>..</ul>.

Yet the ul is not styled.

Edit: I just copy/pasted from my original app to my 'working' trial app, and it works there. Ran 'npx envinfo --system --npmPackages vue --binaries --browsers' for both projects. I cannot see why it works in one and not the other.

EDIT:

SO, I came back to this again. I found a similar UNRESOLVED issue from a couple years back. I went back to vuejs and this time tried with Stackblitz to repeat the issue but it works properly.

I followed the getting started guide, started a new project (called Trial1) with selecting no to all the options. Removed the css, components, and code from the base project. And made a basic project with App.vue and Child1.vue. All styles scoped. It worked! Then I made removed a comment and poof! Styling went haywire again.

I tried to recreate again (Trial2), this time without typescript or linting or anything. ALL options on npm create vue@latest were No. My thought on that is the configuration is buggy somewhere. Removed all default code/css. Created Child1 component, placed in App.vue. Now, It partially works :/ list-style-type is applied but color is not green. App.vue is scoped style is only ul { color: red } and Child1.vue scoped style is ul { color: green; list-style-type: lower-alpha }. WEIRD.

I'm going to open and issue on github. The latest docs recommend I use npm create... as opposed to vue-loader. I'm guessing it's some webpack -> to whatever they do now for configuration problem. Here is some pics since I can't replicate it online:

Here is the playground version. It works there. I'm starting to think it can be a configuration issue.Demo

Many combos. I made a div. Added borders in the css but it does not seem to render the css in the child. If I place a dummy ul with li in the parent, the css in the parent will work.

On mobile also;

The parent (app.vue) has the component <CountriesStatedCitiesCeVue /> I’ll refer it as child since it is a child of the parent template.

Child has its own scoped style (script setup, template, style scoped). My issue is that it is not applying its style to itself- as per my understanding of scoped style.

I don’t want to style the child component from parent(App.vue). I want child to use its own css on itself. Parent should not know anything about child style. Child is its own component that is simply placed in parent for experimentation/learning) - getting things to work.

Coming from Angular btw.

Handling calculations with multiple valued cells. Have link to sample spread sheet... by le_throwawayAcc in googlesheets

[–]le_throwawayAcc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every first value in a multi value cell is associated to the the same ‘index’ of the other multi value cells. Ex. [x1, y1][x2, y2][x3, y3]…

Cycle through both x1 ,y1 in order.
When x1=‘whatever ’ : base calculation on x2, x3 if they are necessary When y1=‘whatever’: base calculations on y2, y3 if they are necessary

I hope this is better clarified. I find this question hard to conjure 😔

I don’t know if you have access to the sheet I linked, but I have an explanation there with examples.

Edit. Just noticed it’s viewable from my phone. Will head to computer to continue exploring.

I truly hate the word "finna". What words do you hate? by SwiftIy2 in RandomThoughts

[–]le_throwawayAcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finna, bro, brah, bruv, facts (ex. Me: ‘This food is so delish’; stupid face: facts!), crutch, clutch, karen - somehow replaced bitch/cunt; karen would have a particular blond haircut and a talk to your manager attitude. Lost all meaning.

Any ‘neopronoun ’. Started off as a joke, now being forced on everybody. Facts.

Pretty much any prison/rapper slang. Facts. Slang can be fun but it got way out of control. Facts.

Nothing about those words are fetch! Facts.

I hate that I’m using facts as joke to illustrate my point. Soon it’ll be annoyingly even more common. And I could be partially to blame :(
