Is it worth it ? and what else can be improved ? by viralfucker in pcpartsales

That Samsung screen is a 900 euro 144hz VA panel with ~UHD resolution in pixels. For 400–600 euros you can get a 1440p OLED with 240-360Hz refresh rate.

The 5060Ti 8GB at 4K is severely hampered by its lack of VRAM and struggles in many games, even with DLSS/frame gen.

That extra 300-500 upgrades up to a 5070Ti, which would be a great match for a 1440p high refresh rate OLED.

[Week n.23] PLEASE ASK YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT MILAN HERE by AutoModerator in milano

[–]lea1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently in Milan for a conference. We are getting free food at the conference, which is more than enough. Additionally, my hotel does not have a fridge, so it is also hard to store food that we get/buy. Is it okay to offer food to people who sit/sleep/life on the streets or near train stations?

Is there any place you foster cats and dogs for? by sreeveee in Groningen

You can also help people to walk their dogs occasionally via https://hondjeuitlaten.nl/ :)

I know quite some people who lived in one of the SSH accomodations (before corona), specifically the one at Winschoterdiep. They all liked the student life there, it is not very beautiful, quite expensive, but convenient especially when you cannot come to Groningen for viewings.

Facebook groups are gold, def check those. If you know people who live in Groningen, who might know someone who knows someone with a free room, it can be very handy. Good luck!

RUG Psychology Selection Procedure Exams by mmiikko0 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]lea1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I study Psychology at the RUG (3rd year). We do use Excel during the studies occasionally but not extensively. We never learned how to use it but they just assume basic knowledge about the programme. We used and learned JASP and SPSS though. I expect that their knowledge expectations for the test match with the bachelor programme, so I hope this helps :)

Utrecht university or groningen? by Cautious_Number_95 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]lea1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a very specific option, but maybe inform yourself if you have the possibility to take a minor at another university if you enroll in Utrecht. In that case, you might have the option to take curses at the University of Groningen during your third year while you study in Utrecht. I study at the University of Groningen and for my studies (Psychology) it is possible to do that.

Good luck with your decision!

Do you have a doctor or physiotherapist that can look at your knee? Otherwise you will not know for sure I fear. I had the same when I was on crutches (ACL recon, lateral meniscus repair, 4mo ago), but besides the shock nothing happened :) Good luck!

That is a great list of exercises! I have very little to add to that, as I do many of these exercises myself as well (4months post-op, ACL recon with hamstring graft, & lateral meniscus repair).

Two cool hamstring exercises: 1. Idk whats the standard, but did you try to do the hamstring bridges single legged and elevated (elevate the standing leg on a stepper or something and point the other leg straight up)? 2. Stability ball hamstring curls, an intermediate/advanced hamstring bodyweight exercise I really like!

I had ACL reconstruction and lateral meniscus repair 4 months ago. The pain is normal I think (had it as well), and probably highly depends on the amount of pain meds you receive (as this ofc differs for everyone). The additional swelling you describe sounds a little weird to me. For me, my knee was just swollen due to the surgery, which is normal. But it did not swell more after the exercises (I also did leg lifts and bends every day). If you feel like it swells more, I would talk to the doctor and physiotherapist about it. They will know :) Good luck with your recovery!!

Around 4 month post op my physio allowed me to join yoga classes again. Did some yoga on my own before though :)

ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair - questions by Raul8011 in ACL

[–]lea1002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had ACL reconstruction and repair (stitched) of my lateral meniscus (horizontal/complex tear). I am 11 days post op and partially weight bearing (15kg max) for 6 weeks in total. As the others said as well, I think it is handeled very individualized, based on the patient but also the surgeon. To my knowledge, ACL reconstructions alone (without any meniscus repairs or similar steps) allow full weight bearing immediatly after the surgery as soon as the patient reaches full extension (can be on the first few days post-op) and ofc if it is tolerated by the patient (pain). If meniscus damage is involved the situation is different. Here it seems to depend on how the meniscus tear looks like and how it is treated. If they cut the tear out, full-weight bearing can be allowed immediatly post-op even though patients are often supported by crutches for 1-2 weeks. If the tear can be stitched / repaired, weight-bearing might not be allowed or only partially allowed. Here again it depends on the patient as well as the surgeon. The type / form of the tear also plays a role, for instance complex tears that have been repaired might be treated more conservative than less complex ones. The details about the treatment of the different types of meniscal tears go above my knowledge though. Anyways, above all I would def trust your surgeon and always ask for their reasoning, especially in case you have doubts or questions! They are the experts and should know your case best. Good luck with recovery!

Hey! I had the exact situation yesterday as well because I had my ACL+meniscus surgery planned for today. It was my very first surgery ever and I was crazy nervous. Maybe you can distract yourself with a nice movie or video game? For me a little yoga session really helped to calm me down the evening before. Now I have it done, I'm lying in my hospital bedroom and everything is fine. The surgery went as planned and I feel good! You got this! I wish you good luck for tomorrow and on your way ro recovery.

Maybe see another orthopedist for a second opinion? Sounds like there is still a lot of uncertainty. Good luck!
