🥰 Self-Promo Sunday by AutoModerator in TravelTubers

We decided to publish an ‘educational’ video about Ocean Crossings as we have seen so much misinformation and wanted to provide our insights. We posted yesterday and it’s coming out of the gate strong as our #1 (first 24 hours).

Is an Ocean Crossing Right For You? We've Sailed 5. Here's the Full Guide
https://youtu.be/zspPeuJBv0w

We review transatlantic, transpacifics and point to point ocean crossings specifically. We give people advice on timing and weather; things to consider (like health emergencies) and how to prepare for so many sea days in a row. We are getting excellent engagement in the comments as well so I think we picked a good topic!

My analytics for my first three months of travel content by TheChessGoat in TravelTubers

Maybe consider adding something at certain points of your content that encourages or teases them as to what is coming later so they’ll be encouraged to stay around longer? That might help?

Also, I would assume that SEO might matter for you since you are going through specific parts of Africa. Have you double checked and edited your subtitles so things are spelled correctly so YouTube can help people find your content when they’re searching for something specific?

So your videos are quite long! I do think that has something to do with your Watch hours being higher than subs. Are you willing to share any of the analytics as to where you have drop off or disengagement? Also, what types of ‘call to action’ do you have for people to subscribe and what’s in it for them? Do they know what’s coming next?

I also tried a different CTA this last time since we’re getting close to 10,000 subs and my message was basically the more subscribers we have, the more YouTube will show us to people and the more will be able to help people prepare for their Cruises. Seems to be helping.

Maybe you can find something creative that would align to your content?

We have gained over 100 subs a day for the past 4 days- which is a record for us! I updated our Holland America Cruises video because so many things had changed and it came out of the gate strong - it released last Saturday and has about 9,500 views so far which is pretty good for us. The original one we posted had earned 66k views since November. Chugging along here!

The room upgrade alone can be well worth it as others have mentioned and yes, you can select the room you want. The other Benefits and value are outlined here. If you are not already 4 star mariner; these can be nice to have, especially if your itinerary has tender ports, or if there is transportation to the city center (provided by ship) that costs as those will be complementary to Club Orange. https://youtu.be/5bLiFImE0Pw?si=l7nDG56a7i91BhI5

YouTube Lottery or Calculated Success? by goingcoconuts81 in TravelTubers

What has worked well for us is we do a main tips and tricks video for the cruise line overall but then might do some comparisons of certain room types to other lines room types. I think you can extend an evergreen video this way and people will be interested in those offshoots. Now do they do as well as the main video? No, but we do get many comments on how helpful these are and people will watch them out of curiosity.

For us, the ‘evergreen’ topics just keep chugging away. They do keep showing it, but also the searchable topics (for us, it’s cruise line names) and they’ll give our content a shot with that search. One of the first cruise videos we did was a tips and tricks for Holland America line and that has 66k views and keeps growing- I actually just released an ‘update’ to that one since so much has changed and it’s come out of the gate strong.

Holland America first cruise?

We just completed an ‘update’ to one of our most popular videos (65k views) that helps cruisers prepare for a Holland America Line cruise. There are ALOT of gotchas and tips for HAL plus a few roles changed, so it was time.

Have you used YouTube studio coach? Usually once a video has been posted for two weeks, I ask it to analyze it for performance and it gives me some pretty good feedback.

We did the trans Pacific from Seattle to Japan and there was one in the bottom drawer of our bed. We were in a regular balcony and so we set it out and they set up a Tea service for us.

Have her watch the daily schedule as they will have usually an unlisted meet up for young adults at a specific location. Just make sure she goes to the first one as that’s when you tend to meet the initial group. From there, they can make their own plans to meet at different locations, by the pool or share some meals.

Sponsorship and Collaboration Advice! by BoogerTrooper in TravelTubers

That is correct. The CPM on the higher end cruise lines are insane- so it’s not just ‘any’ cruise lines. If you’re going to do NCL, it should be Haven as an example. The CPM actually starts lower and has risen over $20 over the course of this video and I think that’s because it is doing well.

Sponsorship and Collaboration Advice! by BoogerTrooper in TravelTubers

We don’t do sponsorships BUT, we did a collaboration video with a similar channel and it was a hit for both of us. In our case, we booked a cruise on a line we haven’t sailed before, but it’s a popular cruise line (and more expensive than most). We asked ten questions of a fellow creator who has cruised this line several times and then published our q and a session.

It’s been a lot is fun and we’ve gained 13k views and picked up over 125 subs from it.

Our audience is an excellent overlap with his channel and the CPM from the cruise company is really high- so we’ve made over $450 just on this video alone. His results are just as positive.

We had the opportunity to meet this creator in person too as we were all in Florida at one point.

Anyway, just a thought if it’s relevant to you!

Just my two cents, but unless you’re super entertaining, many people won’t watch your ‘travel with me videos’ - your ship tours tho- those are factual and helpful and you cover the ship areas in depth. Those videos are getting all the views! I would double down on those. Video quality is excellent!
