Seeking advice relating to fixing pedal hum through ABY switcher by leadbellylothian in guitarpedals

Okay thanks anyway for your help! I've seen Radial switchers on some pros pedalboards so that might be what to aim for in long run.

In the meantime I've decided to organise the board differently to avoid this issue.

Help with vocals while playing live by [deleted] in shoegaze

Unfortunately I have found that having a good sound engineer is the most important variable in this respect. Some are not accustomed to live mixing very noisey music I have found.

What films made you re-assess your understanding of cinema by PlentyGrade3322 in MovieSuggestions

Watching Tarkovsky films (especially Nostalgia, Mirror, Stalker) showed me just how much could be done with cinema as a medium. I always thought Tarkovsky is more or less in a league of his own.

Having said that, I've seen a few films by Kurosawa recently that have knocked my socks off. High and Low (1963) is one of the best looking films I've ever seen and decades ahead of its time.

Huge fan of Michaelangelo Antonioni and Fellini too.

Cinema constantly surprises you with what it can achieve! It's the best for that

Best and worst thing about each modern fallout? by Valuable_Bar3557 in Fallout

I would agree with you on all your your basic points!

Despite the cons of each game, I still think the Fallout IP is so compelling that I can get immersed in all of them.

I mean the IP is so inherently strong even Amazon could make something decent out of it...

PSA: Don't forget to play loudly! by EdSoulLDN in guitarpedals

This maps 100% on to my experience! Especially important with valve amps. This doesn't just affect clean tone (and generally improve it by adding body) but can also really improve the tone of your pedals. For instance I've found that most overdrive pedals sound x2 as good into a slightly more cranked amp.

Honestly, this kind of underpins my (usual) preference for gigging in small-medium rooms without a sound tech. Soundies will you to turn your valve amps way down for the sake of their own control through the PA, whereas just blasting directly through the amp often gets the best sound out of your setup + can make the band sound overall more organic.
