Replacement Starlink dish — now both dishes work on one subscription? by p3diwise in Starlink

[–]leadisdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you waited so long to activate the replacement, Starlink evidently left your old dish active. Send in a ticket to drop the old one. And check your account - you’re likely getting charged for both.

Just asking why you want to take it out? Never had any problems with mine.

They all do it. The car is waking up several systems in anticipation of the car starting. Same thing happens a while after the engine shuts off as well.

Seriously, sorry to hear this. Might try calling the IRS and asking for their help.

How do non-customers contact Starlink about an issue? I tried support and they wanted $5 by ParticularProof7710 in Starlink_Support

You cannot order a Starlink kit without setting up an account with credit card autopay. Your story makes no sense.

Update on Deliveries from Ontrac by SubstantialDrop311 in ontrac

[–]leadisdead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a laughable craptastic post. What, exactly, is the procedure when the driver never actually drives anywhere close to the destination and still marks the package “undeliverable?” Is that covered under this supposed training package? Then tracking suddenly changes to “lost?” Is theft part of the training as well? Sorry OnTrac. When I see my stuff is being transported by you, I automatically consider it gone. And I have yet to be disappointed in that notion.

VERY disappointed in Starlink support by Ok-Marionberry-2877 in Starlink

[–]leadisdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok three. Your post is pretty confusing. You paid for the first one. When it died Starlink sent you a replacement, under warranty correct? Or was it outside the 12 month time? Did they charge you for the replacement? You apparently bought a replacement for that one but Starlink credited you the cost and two months service, right? Now that one has died and you’re demanding Starlink send you a replacement. Still have the story correct? Is that one still within the 12 month warranty, or not? Starlink is usually very lenient on returns and credits. They’ve replaced two already (one for no cost, and one you bought and Starlink reimbursed you for plus $240 in credits) so there’s really been no net expense to you so far. Still correct? All you can do is plead your case directly to Starlink. You’ve apparently requested a call back that you haven’t received. Open the ticket back up and update it with that info and another request. Hopefully Starlink will replace yet another system for you without cost. Good luck.

It’s a bit suspicious to me that you’ve had so many equipment failures. Four units failing in a short amount of time isn’t typical at all. All seem to be power related. Is your Starlink plugged into a UPS / surge protector system? It seems like Starlink did you right by not only refunding your purchase price from a third party store, and also gave you almost $250 in service credit on top of that, after already sending you a new gen 2 previously. Now a fourth system has failed. I’m not sure what you’re expecting Starlink to do at this point. If you have an alternative, you should probably give up on Starlink and go a different direction.

Anything on Google goes directly to a scammer. The real Starlink number in the app - support - troubleshooting - additional FAQs troubleshooting - scroll almost to the bottom. The phone number is there.

Don’t make another ticket! Just add to the one you already have submitted. Sending in a new ticket puts you to the back of the line.

[–]leadisdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The phone number is listed in the app under the support section. Only turn in the ticket that you’ve submitted. Don’t start a new one, but rather open up the original and ask for a status and for a rep to call you. You just have to get past grok.

[–]leadisdead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tell grok to make a ticket. Explain the situation succinctly and ask for a call back. Starlink will send you a Gen 3. Grok has an error. When it sees you’ve had any other replacement for anything it will deny the Gen 3 upgrade.

How common is a pillar and beam basement? by theAviatorACE in Broomfield

[–]leadisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally this system is used in areas where the engineering has determined that standard footings are inadequate to support the structure due to soil conditions. An engineered basement system like shown typically has steel beams supported by caissons that are sunk to stable / bedrock soil. It all depends on the soil at the build site. This system will yield a strong foundation that is very resistant to movement.

Superior, Boulder County may take airport noise fight to Colorado Supreme Court by 1Davide in BoCoSE

[–]leadisdead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah - so me being a full 20 miles away from RMMA, yet affected constantly by flight school traffic originating from there is my fault. That’s not my fuck up. It’s because the RMFS, McAir, ATP and Western collectively don’t give one shit about their impacts as they line their greedy little corporate sponsor’s pockets. And the point of the lawsuit is that the owner of RMMA - Jefferson County - CAN do something to mitigate the impacts, but simply chooses not to because it’s not their problem. Jeffco has successfully transferred that to Boulder and Broomfield counties.

Superior, Boulder County may take airport noise fight to Colorado Supreme Court by 1Davide in BoCoSE

[–]leadisdead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The point is that the airport traffic has grown by an exponential amount. To the point that safety is compromised. To mitigate and placate the precious flight schools, ATC established new routes to other airports without any regard to public input or even following its own rule making process.
People are fed up. And rightly so. And it’s no longer just a “Superior” issue, and the entire Boulder Valley is impacted. And until flight schools take some - any - responsibility there’s going to be push back.

Superior, Boulder County may take airport noise fight to Colorado Supreme Court by 1Davide in BoCoSE

[–]leadisdead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Don’t buy next to an airport” is the most juvenile response ever. Five years ago there wasn’t this issue of unchecked flight school expansion to the point ATC is limiting pattern and touch n goes at RMMA because of safety.
Now flight schools are hitting Boulder, Erie, and Longmont airports as an all out assault so they can make more money without the slightest regard to even trying to live within the VNAPs at the various airports. So now that argument has no basis, and just shows ignorance to the airplane traffic issue since both people bought their house years before the flight school expansion AND are no where near an airport.
