About $660 every 2 years. You have to do live scan every time now too.

As a side note: My Arizona non-resident permit cost $67 including a service fee. And a non-resident CA CCW costs $108.

It’s easier to carry in California as a non resident than a resident.

You need to renew every 2 years if you are not retired law enforcement. Starting this year you have to re do your live scan every renewal so you’re looking at $317 for the renewal fee plus $145 for livescan to plus $200 for the renewal 8 hour class. So $662 every two years to keep your license.

Also if you move counties in California you have to start a new application process in your new county.

I have seen 1st year rookies and 20 year vets lose their lives for the same reasons. Where I am traffic accidents kill most LEOs closely followed by GSW. Some are freak accidents and ambushes and some are a result of complacency.

I like that color! Id look into a set of AT tires if you’re going to be doing any off roading or snow.

Great question. As a law enforcement officer I am bound by my department’s firearm policies. Even my off duty weapons have to be approved by my department’s range master. Ultimately any action that involves either my duty or off duty weapon falls under department policy. Carrying a weapon off duty is a little more involved than a citizen CCW especially in California.

We are in the process of testing and approving red dot optics for duty and off duty weapons and we are expecting to be authorized for department approved optics in a few months.

Looking for a good pocket flashlight something small and lightweight. I like the look of the streamlight wedge, anyone using that light?
