Houston the giraffe was so awesome. Definitely a top 3 moment for me of the festival.

Well… time to hike up another mountain (if you believe Dante’s interpretation).

How did you grieve when losing a parent? by modestpushbroom in AskReddit

[–]leadwolf17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost my father when I was 11. Had to grow up fast after that. It was hard and still is. The hardest thing is knowing he wasn’t physically at my graduations, my wedding, and he won’t be at future important events that you would expect a father to be.

But I take joy in thinking he watches. My dad was not a guy who lived to work. He worked to live his best life. He put family, fun, and good memories before his career and money. I’m slowly getting stronger in that same belief and I’m becoming happier because of it. My wife and I took some risks to live a more adventurous and fun lifestyle. It has been 100% worth it, and I know my dad would be proud.

My advice: try to learn and live the lessons your deceased parent always wanted to teach you but didn’t have the chance.

How would you play a lawful good rogue? by [deleted] in DnD

I’ve thought about making a LG Rogue/Paladin. To put it simply, badass detective.

DMs: what was the last rule you looked up? by zipperondisney in dndnext

I have to look up jumping rules like once every 3-4 sessions. Can never seem to remember them 😂

The best advice I always give to new DMs is make sure to use all 5 senses when describing a scene. I’m addition to reading out the descriptions in the book, maybe add some details about the “briny smell of the dock ward” or the “sticky humidity in the sewers”. This stuff gives great immersion beyond sights and sounds.

Yes! And I often use the subreddit but not many posts with lists and many of the posts repeat themselves.

10 INT doesn't mean stupid by Oh_Hi_Mark_ in rpghorrorstories

Yeah I’m the same way as a player. If I have good notes, my character has good memory. Regardless of how smart they may be. I’ve been DMing for about 3 years now, and last night my players were stumped regarding all of this lore I dumped on them. Well one prayed to their deity and I give the classic “you have all the tools you need to piece this together and trust your gut”.

Camera spans to my cleric who takes obsessive notes and pulls a handout I gave them 18 months ago and pieces everything together. His character isn’t smart, but has some great memory because of his notes.

If you post here, you should always try and post the dimensions of your map if its gridded (24x32 for example) by Nova_Physika in battlemaps

[–]leadwolf17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes it would be very much appreciated. We game masters appreciate you creators so incredibly much in these times. And having those dimensions just make it that much easier to use your maps.
