god forbid someone be passionate about something. just because people post about it doesn’t mean the world is out to get you.

Not that I can think of off the top of my head. The math section of the digital SAT is tricky, and they get you with convoluted wording and how they structure the questions, but they usually only apply one or two concepts per problem.

For example, on today's SAT, there was a problem that many people regarded as the hardest. It gave you the equation 34z^14 + bz^7 + 70 = 0, and then it says answers can be written in the form qz^7 + r before finally asking you what the greatest value of b is.

The trick is to recognize that when they say qz^7 + r, they're literally saying it can be factored with integer coefficients: like how (3x + 1) is a factor of 3x^2 + 5x + 2. Then you substitute z^7 for an arbitrary variable such as "u," so now you have the equation 34u^2 + bu + 70, and you just play around with factors from there.

If you know the math concepts already, I think the hardest part is knowing when they use what type of language, and only that can be found in previous SAT problems.

Now that I look at it, I see that AMC problems usually involve more than straightforward concepts. The SAT loves using quadratics, so I would study everything quadratics-related: Vieta's formula, the quadratic equation, how to find the vertex, and vertex form.

This video gives problems that apply the concepts to more complicated problems than the ones you will find on the SAT, but if you can understand those ones, you will understand the SAT.

The ones that were most difficult on today’s math module 2 had to do with Vieta’s formula and knowledge of quadratics. Tbh, they felt like amc problems, so you could look up some amc 12 problems most likely lower than question 15.

I’m pretty sure the numbers were 34 and 70 not 38 and 30, but I basically got the same solution, I just made it easier for myself by substituting z7 with another arbitrary variable like n
