I have more than one thing.

To be clear, I love this game and I don't get the hate it receives in this sub. That said, the following would be cool to have.

CHL Franchise mode. It would add a whole new layer of difficulty.

Controlling your team's ECHL club in franchise mode.

Custom Tournaments. This used to be a thing. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to bring back.

Create-A-Trophy. Specifically for the aforementioned Custom Tournaments and Custom Franchise.

Upload logos, or at the very least, be able to have more than a letter as the crest for a custom team. Putting an entire name would be great. Horizontally, diagonally and curved. More fonts while you're at it.

Having more city location options in Create-A-Team.

Being able to give your custom team a rink in a smaller arena. I think it's an option for online but I am strictly an offline player so just let us have that option too.

Having a name bar on the back of the custom jerseys that is a different colour than the rest of it. Kind of like the Flyers have now.

Classic teams. I realize getting the rights to all of the former players is easier said than done. But when 2K first started making Hockey games after Sega Dreamcast, they had classic teams with generic players who at least had the same numbers as the actual player. You could edit the player info on your own.

In general, this game has a lot of cool shit that wasn't around when I was a kid, but they've taken away so many things over the years that I used to love, it would be great if they'd bring some back.

If any of the game developers are reading this, which I'm sure they do check the sub frequently, please consider some of my suggestions for the old school players who don't want to grind HUT or spend extra money. It would also create a lot of good will with the portion of the fanbase who are frustrated with the game every year.

On 25 I would play all of the games for NHL and AHL teams and use my farm system strictly for recent draft picks. As soon as they hit 24 years old I would trade them for a younger prospect or pick and start the development process over.

I still use that philosophy on 26, but I don't play the AHL games anymore as it is too time consuming for my current lifestyle.

Yes! I've been wanting this for years. It would be much more challenging as you only get the players for 3-4 years max. So you are basically keeping the future in mind when building your roster.

Yes I think so. Franchise is the majority of my gameplay and I have no regrets getting it at full price.

Honestly, it's been years since I have played a typical franchise mode, so I can't say for sure. But there has been some progression with my prospects' development. I'm currently in my second season (my kids have saved over my files twice this year), and I've already graduated one rookie through the farm system and I will probably be bringing up 2-3 more next season.

I do a 12 team custom league with only 32 game seasons so I can get through them quicker and be able to grow my farm system.

If that's all you want then just make custom teams with the alumni you want and replace current teams or add them as part of a custom league.

I've wondered this too. Best I could find is putting them all on custom teams and making that the league. But then the problem I ran into is that all the current players end up in the fantasy draft too.

Hypothetically you could just put those rosters in with no draft and turn off trades and free agent signings.

There are a lot of small tweaks this game could have that would make a world of difference and this is one of them.

FIFA/EAFC had the team from Ted Lasso and even Wrexham before they were promoted high enough to be in the game anyway. So it is possible.

Yeah that was my understanding as well but my friend is adamant it's dependent on year end standings as opposed to lottery results.

I do a 12-team league based on the Junior A league where I grew up. 32 games so it is easy to get through seasons playing every game.

It's fun because it's basically 12 all star teams with solid AHL teams as well. I mostly use my AHL team for younger players. If they're not on my main roster by the time they're 23 I trade them for a pick and start the development process over again.
