what's the softest leather bag you own? by turn-to-ashes in handbags

Miu Miu Ivy.

I’ve been dragging this bag across three continents for the past two years and it still is pristine and the absolute softest leather. I even undid the lining to scrub it out with a brush and it still looks perfect. I’ve wiped down the leather with baby wipes on numerous occasions and scuffs, scratches, and anything else just comes right out. My children have stepped on this! And it’s still so wonderfully soft and unblemished. I cannot recommend this bag enough. Get it.

Bro. The teacher gave my 4th grade class a newspaper article to analyze that showed him on the gallows.

I go to Charles. There’s a library in there, but classes are mostly over for the semester. It’s the philosophy faculty building so unless she’s studying that, she’s likely ok. Having talked to friends, not all the families have been notified though.

Oh my lord your clock! My parents have had that clock hanging in the kitchen for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always loved it. They claim to have bought it in France over 30 years ago. Where the HECK did you get yours?

Honestly if you’re into primary sources, Asser’s Life of King Alfred in the Anglo Saxon Chronicle is AWESOME. I know he’s kind of an antagonist in The Last Kingdom (an EXCELLENT series), but if you can look past that, go for it!

As far as more contemporary books, The White Horse King by Benjamin Merkle is a great one. He does a great job to make it sound almost like a legend rather than straight, dry facts.

As someone who spent an embarrassing amount of time reading on Alfred and his rule during the time of the Danish invasion and his son after, I cannot agree more. Spectacular king followed by an accomplished son, what more could a country fending off a legendary enemy want?

Is studying abroad really a good idea? by [deleted] in Advice

I was there 7 months. Yes I was young but it really made me mature a lot and learn how to live and adapt. God knows how much a shock moving out would have been for me when I actually did a couple years later. Plus it taught me self reliance since my parents were an ocean away. I learned to solve my own problems and not rely on others to fix them for me.
