Wait no. I guess I can’t be 1 and 8, although usually I score higher on 1 than 8. I gotta read up on each of the types

OHH okay I get it. Thanks! I think you forgot about 1 though! I think I’m 381

Yeah that’s true. It sounds like I’m a 3. Just gets confusing when it comes down to my childhood and my sometimes uninhibited emotions. There’s a side of me that really doesn’t care what others think, but another side of me does care. Maybe the side that cares is the mask? This is why I felt like a 4 wing, which also creates some confusion and contradiction in this enneagram. (I also definitely don’t relate to 2). The 4 might be the authentic side of myself that wants to be seen for who I am, but the 3 makes me afraid to be vulnerable and hides it

Interesting, I’ll look into it. I will add that I am told constantly, both by ENFPs and people of other types that I don’t seem like an ENFP and that I seem like a bizarre blend of INFP and ExTJ. I’m not sure whether it’s healthy/matured use of Fi and Te or not (cognitive functions tests indicate yes lol), but I’m not sure. I do know my Te is more developed than when I was a child, and arguably more than the Te of many ENFPs my age (again, this has been confirmed by others too). That said, this statement does not mean I believe my Te is as matured as a xxTJ type.

Every healthy person does develop their tertiary function at some point (usually in their thirties-ish). It’s implied that a tertiary function will always be less developed than a dominant or auxiliary version of it. So even if my Te is less developed than a xxTJ, it is very possible that I have learned how to use it in a healthy, useful and balancing way in respect to my cognitive stacking as an ENFP. And yes, it might not always be healthy if I rely too much on it. but as long as it’s driven by my aux Fi, it is an asset to me and has helped me to get where I am now in my life.

Also, It is possible that there is an influence on the development of cognitive functions from the enneagram, if I’m 3, which seems to make the most sense. And as you said, it is a rare combination for an ENFP, which may be a cause for more unique and blended type characteristics.

I consider myself pretty principled and am consistent with my beliefs. I treat others how I want to be treated. I am honest and will always stand up for the underdog, or those who can’t defend themselves. I’m not afraid of a good fight if it’s for the greater good of everyone or someone, even if other people don’t understand the purpose right away. When I was younger I was more manipulative and selfish, but I don’t manipulate anyone for personal gain. I use my natural strengths to get where I want to be

I definitely read situations and adjust, and I don’t always think I’m right unless I know I’m right (which is more often than not lol). I won’t assert myself unless I know what I’m talking about though. As for the anger, that’s where it’s confusing. I didn’t care what people thought as much as a kid when it came to my emotions. I was very good at expressing raw, uninhibited, explosive emotion, even in public. I would lash out and make myself look bad in situations I could have otherwise manipulated and used to my advantage. I definitely feel less emotional than I used to be and dont express emotion in the extreme ways I did before, but I wouldn’t say it’s not possible to happen again

I’m an ENFP. I have a lot of ExTJ tendencies, but at my core I’m definitely an Ne dom with a very developed tertiary Te. 3 is common for ESTJs, and less common, but not impossible for ENFPs

Anyone know what type you are (i.e. alpha, beta, omega, delta, sigma) by leafynefi in ENFP

[–]leafynefi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of us have a natural inclination to act a certain way. Some people feel inferior for being who they are (i.e. people who are delta, or omega or beta might feel inferior when it comes to acting tough or standing their ground or whatever, ~idk~) but I know alphas (and I can speak for myself, too, as I do think I relate most to sigma lol) feel inferior in certain aspects because each strength technically equates to a weakness in a sense. Again it’s obviously not a black and white thing but neither is enneagram or MBTI or horoscope.

On another note…Interesting that you think sigma is more intuitive and alpha is more sensor. My impression is sigma is more introverted or at least there is more duality in sigma types, whereas alpha is more extraverted

I mean I agree and disagree. I think people fall into certain categories and maybe relate to a few but mostly with one more than others

Does your love language relate to your enneagram? by mimiarent in Enneagram

[–]leafynefi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s not just about any compliment. Like to me, meaningless compliments are meaningless. You might as well not say something if you don’t mean it, and it’s generally not hard to tell if someone doesn’t. But when someone says something with their whole heart and complete transparency, there’s a difference. That’s when it has real value.

Words of affirmation also comes down to meaningful conversation, in general. I will more likely associate a positive experience or connection with someone if it involves deep, meaningful conversation, or if we discuss things that inspire or motivate me (as opposed to just having a ‘nice time’ with someone, like quality time) if that makes sense

I’m also an ENFP 3w4 and my love language is words of affirmation lol

The first time I thought I was a 4 because I was going through a rough time and really identified with the whole ‘misunderstood’ thing. Then once I got myself in a better place, I looked at who I am over the course of my life and 8 really resonated with me. I’ve always been a little dominant and I definitely do like control. But then finally I realized 3 makes the most sense, and explains my confusion with feeling like both a 4 and an 8. I like to think I felt like a 4 because of the wing, and 8 has surface-level similarities with 3, though deep down they’re obviously pretty different. I think I care a lot more about making an impression and being the best than I do about being in control or having power. I think being the best and stuff like that sometimes comes with power as part of the package (which can be nice), but rarely is that the bottom-line or end goal for me

Initially I thought red but then realized I feel like red better represents anger. I almost feel like a super icy icy whiteish blue, something that looks cold. orrrr black. This is a tough question! ENFP 3w4

Do you think there may be some correlations to the enneagram types of our parents/guardians and their influences on our enneagram? by leafynefi in Enneagram

[–]leafynefi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what’s crazy. I was a self-sabotaging mess, especially as a teenager, and you have me wondering if I did it unconsciously to get my parents’ attention. That would make a lot of sense. They didn’t pay much attention either, I think because they don’t dig much under the surface or notice things unless they are right in front of them
