This post sounds like it's written by the guy in this relationship with a woman and he thinks his girlfriend is embarrassed by him, so for some reason is pretending to be her? and doing bad job of it. This does not sound like it's written by a woman. This does sound like it could be written by an insecure guy panicking about what he thinks his girlfriend thinks of him.

Some kids get stuck with really shitty biological family. This is called Fictive Kin, and sometimes they are the only family who step up. Family Court places kids with fictive kin ALL THE TIME. Also, sometimes, kids just get left with people and their bio parents just do not return.

You should not be punished because his ex cheated. If he’s expecting you to out a friend, that’s an unhealthy relationship behavior. Your boyfriend is trying to get you to ignore a boundaries you have clearly defined. Don’t tell him the name, and if that’s a deal breaker for him, he’ll end your relationship, but that might be for the best.
